Bold move. Great if this retains Koetter.

Pair up with a DC like Schwartz and its gold.

I have Scwhartz as a HC candidate but must agree this is a dream pairing.

This is stupid, we can't even have a consistent coach, 3 coaches in 5 yrs

There ya go guys. This is what happens when you run a coaching circus.

I am probably the only one in this forum who is not too happy on this firing. I know Lovie is not the best but we just cannot keep running through coaches like this....

So keep the guy around because he is a nice person???

You were watching the games no? Avg 4 wins the last two seasons. The numbers dropping from when Greg was running the show. Nobody was sad to see him go accept red but he was calling him the next BB. sorry red i just had to Wink

This is Gruden-Morris v2.0, and this time, I'm not for it. Lovie IMO should have gotten another year.

I agree with the decision. Sure it's a circus to fire your coach every two years. But they canned Greg Schiano who I thought had more of a case bc his supposed franchise qb did everything he could to destroy the locker room and team in his second year. Lovie was worse.

Jason licht said 2016 was playoff expectations. Well against the panthers we looked like a bottom 3 team. We lose 5 of 6 after blowing out he Eagles. We barely beat a horrid Dallas team last second.
Next year the schedule is brutal and our defense looked worse under lovies control than fraziers which isn't saying much.

Expect a defensive staff overhaul and possibly a roster overhaul with some of these attitudes.

I expect them to announce Dirk Koetter as our HC anytime tomorrow.

No way they will bring someone else in. Who would want to come to town to perform in this circus for two years then get fired?

I pray Dirk Koetter works out

I would love me some Schwartz as DC, hopefully he doesn't get a HC gig.

Maybe even get him reunited with Super Mario.. Cool

Lovie had a lot of power given to him by the Glazers. Maybe he didn't want to relinquish personnel control. I'm sure he would have fought to either keep his responsibilities as DC or name another one. Who knows? The situation couldn't have gone as status quo.

I mean, I get it from a player's perspective. Lovie seems like a decent dude and I certainly don't revel in his failure, but he wasn't being paid to be a camp counselor and his performance as a head coach was disappointing to say the least. I'm sure a lot of Lavonte's backlash stems from frustration, which I completely get too. Ultimately though, better now than later.

Brandon Myers @myersb83
Dirk has been the man since he walked in the door

Da'Quan Bowers @DaQuanBowers91
3 staffs in 5 years!! Somebody has to be given time for the formula to work!! I was rooting for Lovie, thought he changed the mindset

We really do look like a clown show, and I'm sure we'll feel the effects of that perception for years to come....unless we start winning because winning cures all.

We better start winning though. Like now.

I didn't think this was the right move before.

I absolutely believe this is a huge mistake now.

How can we expect to become a good team if we constantly hit the reset button every two years? We got two years down the road with what Schiano was building, rightly or wrongly, canned. We then totally revamp the roster and two years down the line, having finally began to properly rebuild this team, Lovie gets canned.

We have sucked for years, mainly because we don't allow coaches enough time to build it the way they want. Remember the mess we were in under Raheem.

Who would want this job?

It is hard to blame Glazers without knowing what was going on behind the scenes. Maybe firing Lovie was only way they could keep Koetter around. In that case, most people probably agree that Koetter was better option.

Keeping Lovie at least one more year would have been optimal, even if it was just to give Lovie more time to build a better team for whoever becomes the HC after him.

If next HC is anyone other than Koetter then i don't understand this move at all.
