I'm just curious. A lot of people in general say they won't but I'm curious to what the Chargers fans on here will do. I personally will probably still follow them because a)I have no other team to really root for and b)I'm about to be moving to the LA area myself in a few months anyways.

For me, yes, since I live in between LA and SD.

If the Rams go to LA then they'll probably become my second-favorite team, though. Especially if any semblance of their current defense is maintained by the time they complete the move. So much fun to watch.

At this point I do believe I will still be a fan. Since I'm an east coaster and never been closer than 3000 miles from SD the whole moving thing doesn't affect me quite the same way as if I were a local. The real question for me will be if we move then Gates/Rivers go, will I have the same draw to the team. If they keep the Chargers name then probably, if things get completely changed then doubtful.

I was in a similar situation with the NBA. I'm in North Carolina and was a HUGE Hornets fan throughout the 90s. When they moved it definitely soured me on basketball and I wasn't able to keep interest like I had before. Some of it had to do with the game changing and key players not being there too but overall it felt like the Hornets (Pelicans) bailed on the city... so I completely understand how you guys from Cali are feeling about the situation. At least they are staying in the same state unlike my Hornets (Pelicans) did.

Maybe. I'm not even sure I'd continue supporting them if they stay in SD.

Rams were my first team as They were literally just a few miles away from my birthplace. When Georgia moved away in the middle of the night, I'd recently moved to San Diego. The combo of the Rams leaving and me having a new "home" led to a new home team.

I'll support whatever team moves to Los Angeles. I'm living here again and if the town gets a team I'm supporting them.

It's a forgone conclusion the Chargers are moving to LA. The owners are voting on two options, either Raiders/Chargers to Carson or Rams/Chargers to Inglewood.

Carson site seems to be favored.

After vote is made, division realignment will be discussed. Reportedly, both teams are willing to move to NFC West.

Living in Canada and being a Charger fan when LT was drafted, I hope and plan to cheer for the Chargers when they move to LA. The difficult part was pointed out when Phil and Gates retired. Not sure what the connection will remain.

I do feel the responsibility to hold on however. Every friend/fan up here seems to be a Pats, Saints, Seahawk, Bronco and Colt fan. The successful team fan, who jumps ship when the team isn't winning super bowls.

To carry out as a fan from a relocation and what I assume a rebuild upcoming would put shame on them all.

Well that's nice.

We went from being the lead dog in Carson to becoming Stan Kroenke's tenant, or in simpler terms, Stan Kroenke's b__ch

Its also not a done deal that we join. From what I've heard, we have the option to join, and the Chargers ownership is PISSED (ha suck it Spanos....) about how the whole thing went down with the other owners. We're basically in SD until the Inglewood stadium is finished (probably 2-3 years), and then we have the option to join them. Sounds like Spanos got none of what he wanted and now he has to drag his sorry arse back to SD and try to play it off like they wanted extra time to figure out a way to stay in SD.

As long as everything stays the same (well, aside from the whole losing thing) and they don't change name, color, uniforms (unless to full time all-whites and powder blues), etc. then yeah. Don't have any connection to San Diego.

Yeah our already thin fan base on here loses another one...

From what I'm seeing, the Chargers have until March 23rd to decide if they wanna join the Rams in LA this coming season. Sounds like we would share the Coliseum until the new stadium was built. So we still sit here in limbo not knowing what is going to happen.

I do believe they will end up in LA though.

Nooooooo.....LBC, please stay with us Sad

And you better not pull that "I have 2 teams" BS now, we're not gonna let you half [inappropriate/removed] it on our team now like the Rams' fans would accept. If you try to pull that on us then good riddance.... Laughing

But anyway, I heard an interesting theory on the LA relocation (could've been in the general or some other website) and thought I'd share. It may be unrealistic/optimistic, but its interesting none-the-less. I've always been of the train of thought that LA was almost more valuable to the NFL as a decoy/treat against team's home city's to gain leverage to build a new stadium there. I'm wondering if they made this move with that in mind. Notice that the stadium proposal that got voted through was "Rams plus another team" and the Chargers weren't directly named in it. I'm wondering if this deal got done with the Chargers being pressured/expected to turn down the chance to join the Rams and work out a deal to stay in SD with an extra 100+ mil to work with from the Rams' relocation fee, plus the leverage of having the option to move to LA now that their relocation bid has been accepted. That way the NFL gets the market and big "NFL Experience" stadium/entertainment park from Kroenke while maintaining the ability of other teams to use the leverage of a potential LA move, joining the Rams there.

I think the way they set this up also allows for the NFL to test the LA market and see if its capable of handling 2 teams, in a way that could profit both well enough.
