Pretty late bump but didn't wanna make a new thread. This guy is incredible. Definitely on par with Zeke as a prospect IMO.

My appreciation for him has only grown since I started this thread. He is such a complete back. I think speed wise he has added another gear this year.

Where I coach, we have a 180 pound FB (we run the triple option) who as a 16 year old not quite junior power cleaned 335. Shocked

Side note, I do like Barkley, he's legit. I don't think he's dynamic at the next level but I think he'll be solid. I could see him going in Round 2.

How can you watch him play and say this? He's the definition of dynamic.

He's averaging 16+ Yards per reception and he has unreal lateral quickness and footwork.

He's like what people want McCaffrey to be IMO.

He's a very dynamic COLLEGE FOOTBALL player.

Man, two guys rip me for saying that he'll be SOLID at the next level but not DYNAMIC (I.E. AD, Barry, LT, Marshall, etc.).

I don't see him as that great, but I see him as a very good back that will be drafted probably in Round 2.

What makes Zeke better than Barkley? Honestly, I'd love a good reason.

They are going to be pretty similar in rankings coming out.

I couldn't find a thing wrong with Zeke, and it seems the same goes for Barkley right now.

I don't see the breakaway speed that separates Zeke from other backs going in the first right now.

Believe me, I love Barkley and was one of the first dudes (if not the first) to bring him up.

That being said, I don't think he has great speed. And Zeke is much bigger (eye test?). I do think Barkley has better vision and is more agile. He'll be a 1st round pick next year...back half of R1.

What makes him special, IMO, is his combination of a low center of gravity, agility and lower body strength.

Not that he will ever be like him but he reminds me of Barry.

He's a freak, insanely powerful. Has some very impressive numbers too:

"This year, running back Saquon Barkley is the program's strongest man, power-cleaning 390 pounds. That breaks the program record set by Zettel, and what's more impressive is that Barkley is a running back, not a lineman. He's just 5'11, 222 pounds." - Zettel is about 50lbs heavier and Saquon is competing against 300lb+ linemen here.

Also "Barkley ran a 4.38 40-yard dash on Monday. It was the fastest time on the team."

I don't think I see 4.38 speed. I think he looks faster than last year, but sub 4.4 just doesn't seem right.

That isn't really a big deal though. I mean how many top backs crack that threshold? Most are in the 4.4s or 4.5s.

If I had to guess I'd say he comes in at 4.43 which is still great.
