Ladies and gentleman... here is our new Shady. His name is Saquon. It even rhymes with LeSean. He even looks kinda like Shady. All he is missing is the #25 Laughing

His 40 at Penn State was apparently 4.47 and McCoy timed at 4.50. I think Barkley has more explosion and his vertical backs it up as he can jump almost 10 inches higher than LeSean. He is also stronger as he is listed at 222 lbs which is 24 lbs heavier than McCoy weighed in at his pro day. His ability to cut just reminds me of Shady.

I posted that in the Eagles forum. It probably isn't the best comparison since he is almost 25 lbs heavier and stronger, but he was the first guy to pop into my head when watching Barkley for the first time.

He's also just a true freshman and being heralded as the most talented back to come to Penn State in a long time. His 194 yards last night is the 2nd most against Ohio State since 2000. He is averaging 8.3 yards per carry on the season which is very impressive. He's already on my wish list for 2018 after watching 1 game.

What are your guys early impressions of him?

I think that weight is fudged. He looks closer to 205-210 right now. Would probably be 222 by the time he gets to the NFL

Very crisp and fluid runner. Strong runner with great version. Hard to tackle. Doesn't quite have breakaway speed, but it's still above average. Ideal RB size.

He's gone 12-115, 21-195, 8-62 (injured his ankle), now 24-194 (and had a 35 yd TD run called back).

Maybe not 222, but he seems well built. I'm guessing he is 210-215.

Yeah, that is another thing he has in common with LeSean McCoy.

He is a great fit for a ZBS.

I was watching him last night. Beautiful lower body. Exactly what I look for. I remember on a play where he was running out of bounds and I noticed his calf muscle which was the size of a grapefruit. A guy like that isn't going to have breakaway speed, but boy, he's an NFL player. In those photos, look at how low his hips take him. Below the knees he's perfect. Great legs. Very Happy

Nice build for a true freshman. Sky's the limit for him.

He reminds me more of Roc Thomas.

I'm glad someone's talking about him, I've long thought that Barkley was one of the more underrated players in the nation.

He's not LeSean, but he's awfully good in his own right.

He's not the same player as McCoy. He's got a similar skill-set to Frank Gore.

That kid looks special, I hope he keeps it us because he sure torched us. Nice combination of speed, vision and power.

I don't see it. It looks like this kid actually gets on the field.

He looked very good vs Ohio St, couldn't stop him. Only other guy to torch us like that recently was Tevin Coleman, who I also became a fan of after the game
