After 38 years covering the Packers for Wisconsin newspapers, Bob McGinn left the beat last month and put his house up for sale in Green Bay. Hell move to Ann Arbor, Mich., near his alma mater, Michigan, and live with his wife, Pat, and hed like to continue working. Doing exactly what, hes not sure yet.

Even he got tired of the green and gold. Laughing

It's one thing to meet the love of your life, but what if her last name was that of your favorite team, too?

For Ryan Holtan-Murphy, this is his reality and, now, his new last name.

"We're the Packer family now," he proudly told ABC News.

Oh, dear gawd. I'm sure his previous hyphenated name was because his parents were huge fans of Packers' President Mark Murphy.

Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion has found trouble behind the wheel of a car again. Already facing a four-game suspension for violating the leagues PED policy, Guion could now face personal conduct penalties after a being arrested for drunk driving in Hawaii. Guion was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant. He was pulled over in Waikiki around 4 a.m., and later failed a breathalyzer test.

Am I naive for thinking that as pro football players, they would have to exert very little effort finding people to be designated drivers for them? With how much money is at stake, at the very least they could afford to pay for a cab. Talk about cost/benefit differential...

Maybe they just don't ever think about this in the first place..?

However, you are right. There are stories of strangers (fans of that player or that team) picking up NFL players to get them to camp. I think this happened less than a month ago.

So even though they weren't DD's, those people still went out of their way to help a player out, just for a different situation.

When the Green Bay Packers open the 2017 regular season against the Seahawks, they wont have receiver Geronimo Allison. The league has announced that Allison has been suspended for one game under the substance-abuse policy. The suspension undoubtedly traces to the resolution of marijuana possession charges following an arrest in September 2016.
