You know? Luke McCown didnt do as bad as everyone thinks this year... sure he threw 7 INT's in 5 games, but he had 4 TD's and 600 yards... With no O-line, he didnt do too bad _________________

It's not so much his stats that disappointed people, it was the way he looked lost in the pocket a lot of times. He showed he is a couple years away from being trusted with holding a clipboard.
He just did not have a good grasp of the offense. I think the front office will do everything in their power to make sure there is someone else taking snaps on opening day.
Negotiating is still taking place with Kelly Holcomb, but there is, as Romeo said, a "plan B and plan C".
Plan B looks like a trade for Trent Dilfer. Plan C is a trade for a young backup, as mentioned earlier in the year.
Somewhere down the list .......... oh, here we are. Plan Y. Draft a QB first round.
R.C.: "If we felt good about taking a quarterback there, we would have no problem doing it." |

Which is why he should never have, or in the near future, be trusted with the starting QB role. |

My problem with Luke is when he was being rushed last year, he ran backwards and often took 12-15 yard losses. That is not acceptable.
He has some tools, but needs major grooming in order to be a viable starter in the NFL _________________ Savage to the rescue |

so rookies should never be starting QB's? All rookies are supposed to go out and make veteran plays... your expectations of him were way too high... you gotta let him work out the kinks... _________________
