We have a lot of talented players, but they fit a bunch of different systems. So frustrating.

Pogba will always struggle in a two man midfield as its not in his nature, or the reason we signed him, to hold.

Martial is criminally underrated. How Lingard gets the start over him I'll never know.

Sad times, because I want Pogba, Mata, Herrera, Mik, Martial and Rashford all to play, but you just can't accommodate them all.

It's an OK problem to have. Honestly it should be the three in midfield of Schneiderlin/Carrick, Pogba, Herrera/Mata, Martial and Rashford/Mkhi wide with Ibra through the middle. Rotate as needed. No need for Rooney or Fellaini to ever see the pitch.

Great first signing of the summer.

I do feel a tinge of regret though, I truly thought given a long enough run in the first team Phil Jones could have cemented his place as our starting CB.

Lindelhof will start with Bailley now and it's a battle between Jones, Smalling, Rojo and Blind for the substitute spots.

Now to get Morata and a CDM.

Sounds like Smalling is on his way out. I really thought he could become a great defender for United but he has just never really taken that next step. I can't imagine the number of injuries he's had have done him any favors.

I honestly think Smalling is as good if not better than Gary Cahill, but whereas Cahill has Matic and now Kante, Smalling has been exposed regularly.

For 10-15m he'll be a good signing for someone. I'm sure he'll flourish like Evans has.

From Di Marzio Twitter

Fabinho is very close to Manchester United. His future may be as a Red Devil, with after a bid of 50 million euros (bonuses inlcluded). The negotiations are underway and Fabinho's future could be in the Premier League under Mourinho's stewardship.

This looks like its going to happen soon... He came out and said on a interview that he would love to play for United. Not that I watched much Ligue 1 last season, but what I saw of him in the CL was nothing short of impressive. We need a player like him to free Pogba.

Di Marzio: Javier Ribalta (Juventus scouting manager) to ManUtd

Juventus have confirmed on their website that Javier Ribalta has left the club for professional adventure elsehwere.

Di Marzio said Ribalta is moving to ManUtd where he will have a significant role in scouring and recruiting players.

After five years in Turin, Javier Ribalta is leaving Juventus. The bianconeri's scouting manager will join Manchester United where he'll have a significant role in picking players: he'll be a point of reference for scouting and recruiting.

Well at least Mou knows exactly what he's getting. That is a huge price for a defensive midfielder who has had two sub par seasons in a row though.

Horrible value if we actually get him... he is going to be 29 soon. I mean Chelsea just got Bakayoko for 35 million and he is 22. I much rather get Fabinho.

We are also being linked to Radja Nainggolan as well. Looks like we might actually sign 2 midfield players.

80m for a pair of 29 year old holding midfielders SMH.

Surely this is cheap paper waffle.

Rooney off to Everton on a free, although it will cost us 15m in wages.

Thanks David Moyes for that last parting shot. Christ almighty.

If Martial can somehow get his head straight, he has just as much talent as every young player in the world.
