New Lion FB Michael Burton was our highest graded run blocking FB among draft eligible FBs

Ron Price was at Rutgers before Detroit so the Lions were very familiar with Burton.

Lombardi said FBs may be a dying breed but he loves to have one. Burton has great hands out of backfield.

Another high character guy.

Reach here but doesn't Lombardi like a FB in his system?

Lombardi uses a FB quite often in his offense and we lost Jed Collins in FA.

So character worth two round bump?

People mad about trade up for DT but Detroit slightly overpaid projections all draft for character

The thing is, they are reaches for the fans, not necessarily the Lions. Every team has their own BB, they never go off Kipers.

And I doubt the media puts a lot of time into scouting fullbacks.

That's why I said projections

I'm not upset with any picks. This my least favorite

Tired of overplay on character thing.

The number one player had character issues but still number one because talent

Drafting players with character, injury, and work-ethic concerns has been Mayhew's biggest downfall. I'm glad he doesn't take these type of risks anymore.

This is my least favorite pick as well. But I understand it. And apparently Mayhew himself really liked the kid. So we'll see how it works out on the field.

Says alot about Bennett and Ifo that both are still available though.

Edit: As soon as a I post this, Bennett is drafted by Jacksonville. Laughing

I agree. Some guys with issues work it out. Others don't and hurt their team many times at critical points.

None of these guys are such superior talents that they can't be passed on for someone else.
