Spent my first day here in Minnesota and you guys have a pretty state. My brother and his family live in Woodbury. We ate at the red cow in St. Paul. It was pretty good. Now I am ready for a sweet game tomorrow!

It's no Big Sky Country though!

he's from Utah, dude.

well, Shelley ID isn't Big Sky Country either!

Since 1927 Shelley has been home to the "Idaho Annual Spud Day", which is celebrated on the 3rd Saturday of September. It typically features a parade, live bands, a Spud Tug, a spud-picking Contest, and free baked potatoes

For some reason, I thought Big Sky country is both MT/ID.

Anyone else hate cable companies?

Both my cable TV and internet went out yesterday afternoon at about 2 p.m. and didn't come back online until the past hour or so. Meaning I missed the entire ending to yesterday's game....

I got rid of cable over 2 years ago. In my mind, there's no need for it any longer. Give me simply the internet I'm fine...and even that isn't really necessary, because when we didn't have the internet service, I was able to use my smartphone as a Wi-Fi hotspot (we have unlimited data), so I was able to run my streaming services on my TV off of it.

The Ottawa Redblacks, who were 9.5 point underdogs, ended a 40-year Ottawa football drought by winning the 104th Grey Cup:

The previous Ottawa Grey Cup champions were the 1976 Ottawa Rough Riders, featuring current GB Packers Assistant HC Tom Clements at QB, and Tom Dimitroff (father of Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff) as OC.

Jeff Fisher says "See, it can happen when mediocrity is your goal" (Ottawa was 8-9-1)

i'm in Canada right now (a resort in Moose Jaw, SK) and didn't know the Grey Cup was yesterday until i saw it on tv.

the Calgary coach is Dave Dickenson, a standout QB from Montana who couldn't make it in the NFL but had a strong CFL career.

The 40-year Ottawa football drought was entirely a result of a lack of sound local ownership, which I'm sure the Vikings fans can relate to.

Sad

The RedBlacks poor regular season record is mostly attributable to a hand injury to QB Henry Burris, who got healthy towards the end of the season.

I'm sure the Bears could have used Burris again this season.

saw The Arrival last night, enjoyed it.

if you liked the concept of Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse 5 and the central character coming "unstuck in time," you might like The Arrival too.

Since 2007 the Minnesota Vikings have used the Gjallarhorn to signal the Vikings are coming and the start of a great battle on the gridiron. An Honorary Viking is chosen to sound the horn each game and this honor has included celebrities, Vikings Legends, Olympians, fans, and members of the military. The iconic sound has become an integral part of the Vikings game day experience that fans love and opponents have grown to fear. However, this Viking ritual is steeped in both history and mythology. Today, we explore the truth behind the Gjallarhorn.
