Pretty rough when they are giving every other rookie QB, other than Murray, better pre-season grades than JF.

To be honest, about what I expected when we drafted him but since he is now a Brown I sure hope he improves and proves to be a decent QB (I just don't believe he ever will).

Sucks, but have always thought this, and totally agree.

Would love for that yahoo to prove me wrong. I really like everything about him............except his GAME

I am still shocked Hoyer never signed the extension the Browns were offering him.

That is called being a HORRIBLE agent, whoever his agent is. I mean, obviously he is no special talent, coming off an ACL tear, in a new system, with Johnny frickin football just being drafted.

I wonder how many millions he lost cause of that. A few at least I think. Not sure what they offered, but it had to be like 3 million a year for like 3 years or something.

Idiot agent, and idiot Hoyer for not taking it.

WOW...I never thought of this angle....this is a good point.....
Just to add.....and knowing Josh Gordon would be out? Or was it off the table before we knew about the extension?

I can't blame Hoyer for wanting to have faith in himself, but completely agree that he was getting some real bad advice. Kinda like Justin Masterson before the start of baseball season... they played a gamble and it definitely doesn't look to be paying off.

These guys are just stupid.

They don't realize how huge of a difference it is between what they are offered and if they flop......compared to what they are offered and what they will get if they play great.

10 million bucks??? Nah, I am gonna risk everything for 20.

Just stupid, ESPECIALLY in Hoyers case in football, given the several clear obstacles in his path. Masterson at least had none, other than just needing to play well, in a sport with far less injuries.

But yes, masterson was stupid also.

Plus, signing a contract for less doesnt mean you dont have faith in yourself, it means you are aware of the MANY things than can happen that are out of your control.

Worst one I saw was way back in the day when Christian Laettner turned down some HUGE deal for like 50 million, then of course tore his knee up like 2 days later, and the deal he ended up signing was for like 15 million.

I mean, pretty obvious the agents do not care about the players at all.

Hell, even the AGENTS would stand to benefit from not being so stupid. But, what better way to attract new clients than to show how you can get top dollar.
