Confirmations from all the big names via twitter.

Browns sent out an email announcing it.

Thanks Bonanza.

Hoyer has 3 games...

I don't hate not starting Manziel for the sole reason that I don't think he is mentally ready. I don't know if 4 weeks is going to help that much, but I also like not feeding him to the dogs week 1 in Pitt. If Schwartz doesn't get his act together, it doesn't matter who is back there. They won't have time to do anything.

The decision I expected, don't necessarily agree but hopefully it is the right choice.

Truth be told, I think he should. Manziel seems to be simply not ready. But I see him taking over eventually this year.

We just literally (not really) picked between 2 poisons Laughing

Agree.

I'm trying to think of a rookie QB that has completely bombed his first 3 starts and came out ultimately as a success?

Not saying Manziel would do that but Pitt, NO and Baltimore are 3 blitz heavy defenses, and we saw how unready he is to face the blitz on Monday night...

Exactly

And it's not just him. The offense as a whole looked a mess.

I think this is the decision that had to be made. They have to let Manziel get comfortable with the offense. He is obviously not there yet. I agree with everyone that it is Hoyer's to lose right now.

Does anyone think that if Hoyer really lays an egg to start the season, that he could get pulled sooner than the bye week?

Stability for about a month, I can live with it. Their is going to be a ton of pressure on Hoyer Saturday, that's all I know. He has 3 days within the scheme against the Rams, I hope he looks good now that the pressure is off

Bye week is perfect timing because Johnny gets an extra week to prepare.

They gave this bum EVERY chance to win the starting QB job and he still sh*t the bed. They even sacrificed team chemistry and installed two offenses to accommodate Manziel's lack of football IQ.

And he still looked like a complete failure.
