@espn_macmahon: Cowboys LB DeVonte Holloman is getting 2nd opinion on his neck injury, but teammates believe he's out for season.

@fishsports: Holloman (neck) in San Antonio getting chked by more docs. 'Nothing I want to comment on,' Garrett says carefully. #cowboys @1053thefan

Starting to sound like a season ender and another lost LB for this defense.

What's going on these last few years? Is it just the players are injury prone, bad luck or is there something within control of the organization to prevent some of this?

If you haven't heard already, Holloman's neck injury seems to be extremely serious. He's getting a 2nd opinion on it this week. Pray for #57

It's just the nature of football.

Shame. Really liked him. Was rooting for him.

I think we should start playing Queen's Another One Bites The Dust every practice / game.

I wonder if this injury could force him to retire early. We all know the severity and risk with a neck injury. Best of luck to Holloman.

Really sorry to hear that. I really liked him and thought he could be a guy that could maybe make an impact on the defensive side of the ball. Hope that he recovers well.

Prayers are a foregone conclusion at this point. I get that injuries happen, but it is just so frustrating that most of ours seem to be the season ending kind. I'm not just talking about this season, I am including seasons past. My God this team is jinxed!

I felt bad that I initially laughed when I read about his injury. I personally hope he will be healthy, and resume his football career in the future, but the absurdity our injuries is almost comical. I still stand by the fact that we should start our 3rd string guys on D, let em all get injured by week 3, and then have starters come in.

In many cases, Holloman excluded, we bring it on ourselves by continually drafting players who have well established injury histories in college as a means of manufacturing "value" for the player. Except for the fact that they're never on the field, and we often trade up for those players, so we lose multiple times in multiple ways.

outside of lee, what players have we traded up for recently with "well established injury histories"?

That is a shame.

So this leaves us with a starting LB tandem of Wilber/Durant, McClain and Carter with guys like Anthony Hitchens, Will Smith, Cameron Lawrence, Keith Smith and Orie Lemon competing for backup roles.

Anyone know of any decent prospects at the position who may be cut from other teams?

Sucks for Holloman. He seemed to have some potential. Hope he got his degree or is planning on finishing school.

WLB - Durant, Carter, Hitchens
MLB - McClain, Durant, Lemon?
SLB - Wilber, Durant, Lawrence

Wow, losing Lee and Holloman to injuries has moved Durant up to our single most valuable LB. Whodathunkit? I was all for getting rid of the guy last year. Now, he is likely going to start at Will and be the primary backup for both Mike and Sam. If McClain or Wilber goes down, Durant will slide to their spot and Carter will start at Will.

Wouldn't pencil in McClain as a lock to start at MLB. As he can't seem to stay on the field, and David Moore pointed out yesterday he is still not in game shape. And while talking with him after the Baltimore game he stated that he "had" to play football rather than wanting to play football which made him doubt McClain desire to play. Considering he has already quit twice isn't a good sign. I'm just hesitant to have any confidence in the guy. IMHO
