A new book alleges Stephen "snatched" the Manziel card out of Jerry's hand and insisted on Zack Martin. For those living under a rock, Martin ended up being the pick.

Next incarnation of Manziel/Cowboys draft story will involve team handing him #2 jersey only to snatch away b4 Martin picked.

Calling BS on Jim Dent's "Jerry had the Manziel draft card snatched out of his hand" story. Why would Jerry be holding a draft card in TX?

Yeah...not buying it.

Laughing

While I have no doubt Jerry wanted Johnny Football - this is just a ploy to get more books sold.

...and I am fully on the SJ has more power than people think bandwagon.

I used to yell and scream how this team needs to rebuild there o-line hence why i never had a problem of drafting Smith Fredrick Martin. They have finally done it and have a good o-line problem is they never addressed the d-line in any of the draft rounds. Now we have probably the worst d-line in the nfl with an always terrible secondary which for some reason they can never fix.

I STILL maintain we should have draft Manziel. I'm looking forward to watching him play tonight. This is one scenario where I kinda wish Jerry would have been Jerry.

Something tells me if Jerry really wanted Manziel, SJ's insistance on Martin would have fallen on deaf ears. SJ may have more say than he did 10 yrs ago, but Jerry is still top dog by a long shot.

For several years now, you've been bishing about us not addressing the o-line. We go all in and now have one of the better, young, talented lines in the league. Instead of being happy with the o-line commitment, you wish we'd drafted a guy who wouldn't even play for a few years, barring injury to Romo. Not only that, but Manziel is guy whose style of play will likely see him getting hurt early and often. There truly is no pleasing some people.

I would have loved to get Trai Turner in the third round and Manziel in the first. This may be a surprise to anybody who only follows the Cowboys organization... but it is actually possible to draft quality OLmen outside the first round. Teams actually do it. Seriously.

And, a franchise QB trumps all. Romo's days are numbered due to age, injury history and expense. Manziel would put Dallas in a good position for the next 10 years. I think it was a mistake passing him up... especially for a team that needs to focus on rebuilding.

Yeah...I'm sorry, but Manziel looks nothing like a franchise QB. Laughing

Johnny Football is the great equalizer in life.

Who, but the chosen one could unite Me and Slam to face against Plan9 and HT? Laughing
