Ha please. He's already won both return jobs again.

Had two drops last week too.

Leon Washington and Dexter McCluster can return just as well, if not better than Mariani. If he wants to make this team, he will absolutely have to be a better receiver than what he's been so far. That's not an opinion, it's a fact at this point.

I think everyone wants Mariani to make it, but he's not on pace to do so right now.

You're kidding yourself if you believe that. Mariani since being drafted by the Titans has shown everything that he's the returner on the this. I agree he needs to play better as a receiver, but his special teams alone will get him a spot.

I would agree if we didn't have 2 or 3 other guys who can return at an arguably higher level and also bring more of an impact offensively. We were using Leon Washington as a 2nd team RB. McCluster will obviously have a huge impact, he's not going anywhere. That RB from Western Kentucky is apparently well liked, but I dunno about him.

Wright-Washington-Hunter-Preston are our top 4 WRs at this point. Mariani can still win the 5 spot, but it's gonna take more than this.

McCluster was a pro bowl returner last year and Leon Washington made a huge splash at returner after we signed him last season. Mariani being a good returner means nothing to this team right now.

After tonight, I am beyond worried about our CB depth. We should go sign a veteran tomorrow to at least shore up the back end, because there is no way Tommie Campbell should be playing any snaps at CB this season. Sensabaugh was getting destroyed this game definitely not his finest play, but BWW wasn't really shutting anybody down either. I've been concerned about the depth there since Vern left, and I'm even more concerned now. When the two guys that we have slated to be our #2 and #3 corners are getting abused regularly by backups there is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed.

Well not to say Preston is worse but the dude had two drops last week also. He also brings nothing else besides being a WR. I think both the 4 and 5 are wide open, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we kept 6. McCluster is very good, I agree, but I doubt they risk him getting injured when there is others that can do those jobs as good if not better. As for Leon Washington, he may be running with the two's but when the season starts I wouldn't be surprised if he is the #4 back. I hate arguing preseason becuase its so lackluster.

Tommie Campbell is arguing with Paul Kahursky on Twitter becuase Paul said he shouldn't be covering Jimmy Graham.

To be fair, a bunch of "fans" proceeded to tag Tommie in his tweet and then talk about all his hating. It is just stupid on both their parts though. Players should know that reporters are going to say negative things from time to time and reporters should know better than to get into mini bicker fests with players.

Marc is gone. He's shown nothing but being injury prone and having butter fingers, and like legend said others can return better.

Quote:
Rookie QB Zach Mettenberger completed 20-of-25 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns in the Titans' second preseason game Friday night.

Mettenberger was pushed into extended duty after second-string QB Charlie Whitehurst was forced from the game with a hand injury. He had a bad throw picked off and lost a fumble, but overall it was a solid performance. Mettenberger would ideally "redshirt" this season, but the injury to Whitehurst could leave him as the lone backup to injury-prone starter Jake Locker.

That proves that they do not even watch the Titans game. That throw was not a bad one at all and was COMPLETELY Derek Hagan's fault.

They were probably talking about the Sunseri pick, which was a really bad throw.

Things I liked:

- Jake Locker looked good. He was accurate and looked poised in the pocket. He only had one bad throw.
- The o-line looks really good. The run blocking looks 100% better than last year. Was Bruce Matthews really that bad of a coach. It sure looks like it.
- Justin Hunter . . . He could be our best player on offense.
- Shonn Greene was running really hard and is better than I thought. Hopefully he can stay healthy.
- Bishop Sankey looked good but I want to see him against starters. He needs to fix his fumbling.
- Zach Mettenberger had a lot of good throws. If he can develop more, he should be really good.
- Travis Coons is looking pretty good, and I would put him in the lead for the kicking job as of right now.
- Taylor Thompson looks much more improved from last year and will probably be getting some more playing time this year.

Things I didn't like:

- The defense, ESPECIALLY the secondary. Sensabaugh looked like he did not even belong out there. Hopefully Wreh-Wilson can be better and Sensabaugh can stick in the slot, but we have to go sign another corner at some point.
- The pass rush has been pretty non existent.
- Delanie Walker needs to work on his hands, he has been dropping passing all through training camp.
- I still want to see more of Kendall Wright.
- We had way too many turnovers all over the place.
- Need to mention this twice it was so bad: WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE CORNER POSITION. After McCourty it is scary to think how bad we could be, and even McCourty wasn't great in this game.

I liked the defense minus the pass coverage. The run defense was better and the pass rush was visible. I can see how Casey will rack up similar numbers if situation presents. He was getting by his blocker with ease. Flushed McNown out the pocket once and didn't seem like the OG barely got a hand on him.

The Starting LBs don't seem to be a weakness. We have pretty good depth.

Greene, I'm not really liking as our starting RB. He is slow. There were some holes that if we had a younger quicker back, would have gone for 20 instead of 4.

I like the offense. It doesn't look like last year. It appears we actually have competent play caller on the sidelines. Using Taylor Thompson and just using everyone. Not wasting the talents of the players.

Looking forward to the season. I think we are going to be pretty good on Offense and Defense won't be terrible, if we get the coverage issues fixed.
