At this point, it would have been better for us if he hit his GF instead of smoking some weed.

Wait, what?

Meh. One deals with the integrity of the game (allegedly), the other the image of the game. I dont agree with the NFL at all, but I can also understand why they treat personal things differently than work related things.

Doesn't getting busted for banned substances have set penalties. Knocking your chick the 'F' out is not a concern of the league. As far as integrity of the game, if they were worried about that, they would have released the Patriots videos and files.

Scandrick told Fox Sports late Monday night that he took something while on vacation in Mexico and it tested positive on the NFL's banned substance list for performance-enhancers.

Quote:

Jones let it be known that Scandrick has been suspended for the first four games of the 2014 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He reportedly tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. He's already lost his appeal, so the suspension will be happening.

They sure did keep this quiet for a little while, if they already had the appeal.

so our best defensive player is out for the year(Lee)

Arguably our 2nd best player is out for 4 games

And our most important new player is out for the first 6 weeks….

This defense is going to be worse than last year

Tack on another injury or two, and we're a 4 win team. Boy, I'm sure glad Jerry focused on drafting defensive linemen these last 2-3 years. Wait...

The only saving grace is that we don't face any offensive powerhouse until week 4 anyways in the Saints.

Still very unfortunate.

What has Scandrick greatly improved on? He has always been in position to make plays but he gets embarrassed/embarrasses himself due to his poor ball skills. If he was a good corner then the Boys wouldnt have needed to get Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne.

From all accounts in practice/camp Scandrick has improved on his ball skills.

This definitely hurts. I assume this means that Moore will be playing nickel duties the first four weeks - unless Terrance Mitchell shows something the next three weeks.

49ers don't have a formidable offense? Wouldn't rest on St Louis as well especially with that defensive front that they have built. 2-2 is what I'm hoping for during Scandrick's absence.

They had a pretty darn good DL the last two times we've faced them and I seem to remember both games going our way.

I am not particularly scared of their WRs. Nor QB. Love their OL, though. And the defense of ST is irrelevant to what my comments were. Don't read into them that we will win, or steam roll our opponents. To me, an offensive power house is Denver or a team like the Saints (we face week 4), not the 49ers.

Kaepernick may have his warts but he's more than capable of ripping such a shoddy front seven to shreds with his legs.

Scandrick got hit for Molly, or NDMA. That by itself should fall recreational, but it's sometimes laced w amphetamine, hence the PED pop

I don't know, I'm a more than a little concerned that this team's defense is going to make every team's offense look like that of Denver's and New Orlean's.

This "league" is becoming a frickin joke anymore. I mean, really, knocking GF's out, substance abuse, DUI, Man Slaughter, Jerry Jones partying on a bus outside of strip club, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

And, oh yes, somewhere in this cespool of activity there is a football season to be played? Oh man, what a joke anymore.

And you really have to ask yourselves, if this where any other profession or venue would people just condem it and walk away? Say like the medical field or education? If these were doctors or teachers, OMG there would be hell to pay.

But, as far as Scandrick and this defense is concerned, I guess the only good news is we will be getting everyone back around the same time: Scandrick, Lawrence, possibly Spencer. Who knows, it might give us a boost.
