Trade Boone to KC. After last night's game, they may be ready to throw us a 1st rounder this year and next! Laughing

Only if we can trade you Gabbert and a seventh for...um...trying to find talent on the Raiders roster...um...Khalil Mack?

Was Looney better yesterday? I didn't notice the OL being an issue, which i guess is a good thing. But its not like i set out to see how Looney was playing anyway.

McGloin and a 3rd I'd be interested in visiting...mainly because Boone isn't going anywhere for just a 5th, and McGloin has no value (and this is coming from a big McGloin fan considering he's from my high school).

Alex Boone has been offered a contract by @49ers that would make him a top 12-paid OG. He turned it down.

Probably around 3 million/year.

There's a report that Alex Boone turned down a contract from the #49ers that would make him a top-12 paid guard. I'm told that's not true.

One probably got a SF source, other got a Boone source LOL.

#49ers goodbye tweet: Alex Boone's top offer not even in top 25, not top 12.

The way I imagine it, the whole deal averages out to a below top 25 salary, only because the next two years wouldn't get an all-out salary upgrade. The way I'd do it, I'd give him a considerable raise in the first two years (2014 and 2015), which he's already under contract for. A raise, yes, but not a top 5 G money. Then, when the extension truly hits in 2016, he'd get a bigger raise to top 10, or even top 5 G money. Sure, if you count the first two years, it looks below market value, but that's because he himself signed a contract at below market value. We don't have to give him a raise. We'd be doing him a favor already. If he wants to be paid 8m this year, then too bad, that's not going to happen.

The contract was only about 2.2 million over the next two years then there was in increase.

I would turn that down too, no money for the next two years? Even if the third year is guarenteed that just isn't a smart contract for him to take

At this point I'd deal him to the highest bidder. This relationship seems beyond repair.

I wouldn't, letting him go would mean we will have to likely re-sign Iupati. And if we don't, then both our Pro Bowl guards would departure. I mean we all think Thomas is going to be a stud, but that is no guarantee.

Isn't Kaep the kind of QB that we don't need to have top-shelf OL for? I mean, we already have top-shelf OTs.
