Once again.........why didn't we draft one earlier than 4th round......? It was a strong need

Ya I said it too in the training camp thread.

That was the consensus when we didn't take one in the third round.

What we have been saying all along, a big question about the O-line. It is a problem and will not just fix itself, some talent must be brought in, or we will be seeing the QB's carted off the field on a stretcher. Crying or Very sad

So Herron might have injured his shoulder pretty bad there at the end.

One thing we can say for sure is that we were very vanilla on offense tonight and expect it to stay that way throughout preseason. We have a glaring need at guard though

I would love to finish bottom of the league again and be in position to grab Mariota. I would take another losing season for that

I'm very concerned at how poor the Oline looked. We really need to look at upgrading both guard spots before the season begins.

At least we know what our draft needs are already Laughing

Was at a wedding last night so I'm just checking in on stuff. Have the re-run recorded and am going to watch when I get home.

Everything I'm reading isn't very good. Yeah cousins was bad as a back up in Cleveland. I questioned whether or not he'd even make the team. Him starting I chuckled a bit.

Yeah, I was thinking that the way this OLINE looks. Our best bet is to put the young guys and let them learn as they go. Cousins is what he is at this point in his career. He's a veteran and he stinks. Can't polish a turd. Meredith is shaky and IMO not a starting caliber guard either. Thought about it for a second, and remembered, did Lovie Smith EVER had a good offensive line with Chicago? I remember them being very, very pedestrian as a unit under his tenure there. And Cutler seemed to be on his butt 85% of his drop backs Trade for Boone, start Edwards, hell you might even wanna see if Incognito has his head on straight.

Per yahoo:

Quote:
There’s plenty of time to correct mistakes, and a quarter-plus of preseason football doesn’t matter that much in the big picture.

But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ starting offense looked bad. Really bad.

Certainly the first team offense was abysmal. However, I think we saw the FB used in this game then we will see in half the season. Tedford didn't even bother calling screens or short passes even though the line was leaky. Pretty obvious they didn't want to show anything. I expect the younger olinemen to get more reps, not a big deal to spoon feed the younger players in the first preseason games and let them get their feet wet against back-ups.

I'm pretty sure Omameh is going to be the starting RG by the season opener. Right now, LG I'm not sure.

The defense looked really good. Really fast to the ball, and nobody got behind them real deep for the entire game.
