The Seahawks have waived Michael Bowie who came into camp overweight before injuring his shoulder. The Browns have claimed Bowie off waivers. I thought Bowie would start this year for the Hawks after he started 8 games last season as a rookie. Surprising move to me.

I see the gentleman's rule of no claiming guys with injury designation is completely dead.

Well we figured if the Seattle secondary doesn't have to follow the rules, why should our FO?

Got no issue with it. I often wondered why it was even really obeyed. But NE just did it recently too.

GB's been talking about doing it to Abbrederis but I don't want them to. Just wait until final cuts and leave him on. It's not worth throwing away a 5th rounder.

Thought Bowie had played "okay" from what I saw/heard but this isn't the end of the world either.

Also, lol, touch. If I was a GM, I'd certainly go after things like this, unless maybe I had a good relationship with that FO and didn't want to sacrifice any of that.

Apparently the Saints, Cowboys, and Patriots also put in claims for Bowie so yeah, the unwritten rule not to claim these players has apparently had an unwritten amendment.

Oh come on! We're terrible, we had no choice. Seattle won the SB, they dont need guys like this. I think we started Carey a few games for crying out loud Laughing

It seemed for years it was followed. Then the last couple, it's gotten worse and worse. I was just saying it's officially over. Teams don't care anymore.

Did that apply to vets who were released or just rookies?

Apparently, they can send him directly to IR as part of the cut down to 75.

It's been speculated that the Colts won't put Vick Ballard through waivers because they are afraid that Bruce Arians would try to steal him to bring to Arizona

Everyone really.

Nope, only players who aren't vested veterans. (4 years in the league)

Ahh, okay. I knew I saw some guys who weren't rookies and just assumed.

Thank you!
