Jon Baldwin is a bum. He probably wouldn't have even made the final cut.

Sucks it didn't work out and would have liked to see him get more of an opportunity, but the writing was on the wall for him. Baldwin hasn't even been practicing and he would have needed a GREAT camp just to get consideration of making the team.

I am a little intrigued with the signing of L’Damian Washington though.

not that much, really... Baldwin was set to make only 645k, according to overthecap. Washington probably making anywhere from 420k to 600k.

Well we heard nothing about Baldwin all camp. First I heard of him was that he came to camp out of shape today when he was cut. I like Washington as a developmental guy, he's got the size, speed, and the hands to be a productive player. He does look like he needs to pack on some muscle though.

He hadn't begun to practice with the team and was doing some bike work on the sidelines.

L'Damian was also a pretty good gunner at Missouri. He's a bit lighter than Osgood, but perhaps he could be developed into an Osgood-type player. He is surely a better receiver already than Osgood.

No, he was practing some. I remember reading reports about how he lacked intensity and focus during team drills and how different he was in comparison to a kid like Ward, who is uber competive and intense in practice. His work ethic has come into question even back to college so it seems to be a pattern with him. He had every opportunity last year to make his mark and he just couldn't seize the opportunity. He'll probably get another opportunity elsewhere because he's still young, has great size and athletic ability. But he needs to get it together mentally.

Apparently Baldwin did return on the 31st, but obviously didn't make any noise.

It wasn't a mistake! We did it on purpose! AJJ was merely a roster spot we were saving for later.
