A great player, so good for them.
Dez Bryant is happy I guess. |
I suspect Dez isn't too happy because this could hamper their ability to pay him before camp ends. _________________

This is what I was thinking, it may look big but in the grand scheme of things $40m guaranteed isn't a lot of money. I'd imagine that after a couple of years if they needed to get shot of him they could without saving money. |

Having your blind side protector locked up for his prime and on a good deal? Sign me up!! Good for Tyron and the 'Boys. Curious to see what happens with another young premier tackle with Kalil when his rookie contract comes up, needs to rebound after a poor sophomore year. _________________

It's not a huge difference, but through 3 seasons, Solder has outperformed Smith in terms of yards lost to sacks + penalties (Solder: 175.5; Smith: 231). [source] [source]

Sack yardage is such a misleading stat in this case. Brady doesnt move much. Romo is more elusive and moves around more which leads to more sack yardage. Not mention Romo hangs on to the ball more. _________________

Looks like Smith will only make 1Million this year. Dez will get paid. _________________

Jerry has absolutely no idea what he is doing. Making an above average LT one of the top 15 paid players in the league? Stay sucking, Cowboys _________________ All that is gold does not glitter,

Plus future contracts are only going to be crazier with the new deal. The Cowboys are getting in at ground level. Smart move. |

How is it bad?
And this in no way hampers our ability to extend Dez. We still have $10MM in cap room. _________________

After Cowboys announce , 8 year 110 mil dollar extension, Dez Bryant visibly upset in parking lot with staffer and teammate. |

Dez Bryant is in the last year of contract @ 1.78 mil wants 12 mil a year. Clearly upset after learning of Tyron's new 110 mil extension. |
I guess that's an answer. |

#cowboys & Dez HAVE exchanged proposals. Offers on table. As @1053thefan BryanBroaddus @Spags52 report it, SJones essentially confirms. |

When camp started Dez and Tyron Smith deals were equally close to be done. So Dez is close. Absurd to think one deal negates other. |
Dez knows a deal is coming. The Cowboys have made it clear that one will be done shortly as they have plenty of remaining cap space to get one done, even after the Smith extension.
And Dez almost immediately tweeted out congratulations to Tyron after the deal was announced. _________________

Loud enough to hear across lot. "@Rubethedude: Ridiculous that you would assume this @GregSimmonsKSAT" |
Being peeved doesn't mean you're mad your teammate got paid. |
