There was a video on Bleacher Report that said the NFLPA and agents across the league are upset with the Cowboys and how they are doing buisness. Basically they cut the agent out and went straight to Tyron. I don't see a problem with it, but the PA and agents feel the player is getting taken advantage of.

I hate unions.

That's horse ish. Tyron said himself, in his statement, that his agents came to him with the proposed deal and gave him the pros and cons of such a contract and he decided what he wanted to do. That's his decision. He seems like a smart guy who just wants to spend his career in one place.

That's a fantastic Deal.

Ian Rapoport made a very idiotic statement. Laughing

With Tyron Smithís deal, itís nearly impossible to do Dez Bryantís extension now. Little progress anyway. He may benefit from playing it out

Ian Rapoport is easily the worst NFL reporter. He routinely makes stuff up. He has no shame.

Being a union guy I have a totally different view on them.

It's funny because Dallas can turn ~$10M of Smith's ~$11M base salary into a signing bonus and spread it across five years, netting ~$8M in cap room.

Not arguing that perpetual restructures are in this team's continued best interest, but in the event of retaining Bryant, Smith's deal is very accommodating towards Bryant's potentially monstrous 2015 cap hit, whilst it only uses $1M of Dallas' 2014 cap space, of which $4-5M or so could go towards Bryant's new signing bonus.

Too expensive. They likely paid higher price for him because of his age and to ensure he doesn't even attempt to test the market for himself.

It's a good sign, since he is one of our top 3 players on the entire team. This is the kind of guy you overpay for - I always say, you pay to keep your Tyron Smiths, Dez Bryants, Jason Wittens, Wares, Romos....the real stars. You do not overpay to keep your Austins, Ratliffs, Marion Barbers and Doug Frees.

Overpaying for those average or reliable guys only hinders your ability to retain your stars. Overpaid or not, glad he'll be here a long time.
