Have to wait for the details but my first instinct is that that's a lot of guaranteed money.

Contracts are getting pretty out of hand. But hey, better vets than rookies.

That's a lot of money... but the guaranteed money is crazy.

Major props to his agent. That man earned his pay.

It's a lot of money but I'm a fan of the thinking that you have to pay to keep your cornerstones, and it helps that they continue to raise the cap.

PP21 wanted to be paid like the best corner in the game and that's what the Cards did. Cards had all the leverage with PP still having 2 years left on his rookie deal. But this is called taking care of your best player.

For some perspective:

Joe Haden: 5/68/45
Richard Sherman: 4/56/40

Do I think he was overpaid? Yes, I prefer Sherman, Revis, and Haden over him however he might still have the highest ceiling of them all. However he's a hell of a playmaker and one I wish Pittsburgh had in our secondary at the moment.....Arizona is able to over pay somewhat to keep their cornerstone because Palmer isn't getting "Big" money and they have no QB of the future who is going to demand big money anytime soon. Good for the Cards & Peterson, I just don't agree with him being paid as the best.
