Phils on their way to another #1 pick

At least there will be an elite bat in this years draft

Gonna be hard to pass on a kid like Singer from Florida.

Im taking Seth Beer and not even thinking twice. I need someone that plays everyday with that pick

http://m.mlb.com/news/article/236744566/jim-callis-2018-mlb-draft-top-10-projection/

Callis has us taking HS SS Brice Turang. Singer goes #2 and Beer goes #6.

The short stop version of mickey moniak? Meh give me singer.

Yea I'm pretty sure I'm with you on Singer although Jarred Kelenic is intriguing. That said Turang sounds exactly like a Klentak pick...

Yeah but can we draft the same guy 3 years in a row in the first round? I mean change things up.

Nick Williams hit his first career homerun this past weekend. Congrats to him.

What do first homeruns go for now-a-days? The woman who caught it was immediately taken upstairs. Signed jerseys/bats? Season tickets? Cash?

I honestly don't know what I would ask for/realistically get.

Unless its a dude like harper who had insane hype, probably some signed stuff and maybe like club seats for a game.

Quote:
The last warm-up pitch Sixto Sanchez threw before the first inning Wednesday night was 100 mph. That’s what it said on two of the ubiquitous radar guns behind home plate at FirstEnergy Park.

Here was a slender starting pitcher, 18 years old for another two weeks, exerting minimal energy to produce triple digits. For practice.

“Have you ever seen that?” one scout turned to another.

Quote:
“Jose Fernandez,” one scout said.

“Pedro Martinez,” a second said.

“The best arm I’ve seen in the minors this year,” another said.

“Jesus,” a fourth scout said, not as a comparison, but to express disbelief.

He uses his lower body to help generate the velocity so he might end up being ok.

but with sixto being a young pitcher that could blow up at any time I wonder if it doesn't make sense to trade him now. He could easily headline a deal to get Yelich I would think.

I'd think we hold onto him, not like a deal for Yelich (or anyone) is gonna put us anywhere close to contending
