Early reports are he should be back after a month. So that is good news that he will be ready for week 1, but not a good couple of days for our backs.

Yikes!!!

The other day it was the Colts might be looking at San Fran for a possible back to bring in to replace Vick Ballard.

If you're interested we do have Dave Meggett's son Davin, or Daniel "Boom" Herron. (We're probably keeping Chris Rainey for KRs and RB snaps)

We might even be inclined to packaged both and take back the 2015 7th rder we gave you for Cam Johnson.

He's on reserve/NFI with no timetable made public for when he'll be cleared for contact.

Our Gm said hes near just needs to be mentally ready, theres no set backs.

Few guys have ever suffered the type of injury Lattimore did. Only Willis McGahee, to my knowledge, has ever been able to come back from something similar and be effective.

It would be a mistake for the Niners to count on him for anything.

I know Lattimore is a huge question mark and Hyde is a rookie, but i doubt we try and get another running back. At least until Lattimore and hyde give us a reason to get one

James will be back soon. Doubt he misses more than 2 regular season games, if any at all. He had the same injury in college and only missed two games.

49ers aren't traders at this point. They still have two healthy RB's (that they intend on playing from scrimmage), which is about the depth most teams have at any point in time.

A dislocated elbow sounds like an awful experience in the moment, but he should be able to come back from it without much of an issue. I don't see the need to make a trade for anyone.

Season doesn't even start for almost 2 months. Surely a dislocated elbow will have healed by then. This is really a non issue. And they have a high round RB pick sitting there, and another former potential first round RB in Lattimore who is probably at 90%.

5 1/2 weeks is not almost 2 months. But I'd say they are safe with what they have. Probably add a RB for a camp body and for preseason games. And if Lattimore isn't ready or James has another set back they could be kept as RB #3
