Carlos hyde, Marcus lattimire, LaMichael James.

Deepest backfield in NFL arguably. Sucks for Hunter though, wish him a speedy recovery.

This won't effect them whatsoever. They've still got Carlos Hyde and Lamichael James. Heck, this could be a blessing because now they can save a spot for Lattimore and see what they get out of him.

Sucks but it's good to that it's in a position we're deep at.

We may be deep but this is a pretty big blow. Hunter was penciled in as the #2 and I think a lot of people were expecting big things and around 100ish carries. He's a big change from Gore/Hyde in that he's smaller, quicker and faster. He was the slasher in a group of bruisers. This is good for LaMichael James, but I have no real idea about he'll fair. He should get the opportunities now...

Yep. This time of year the only news you want to hear is nothing at all.

You are forgetting the starter in Gore. But just those 3 would make arguably the most unproven RB corp in the entire NFL. Definitely not the deepest backfield whatsoever.

How is that 9ers group deep at all? Hyde is a decent rookie, Lattimore just had the worst knee injury I've seen in a long time, and James hasn't done anything yet. Gore is still good, but isn't he the oldest RB in the league?

Give me the Ravens, Bills, Panthers, Bengals, Patriots, Eagles, and Redskins all over them.

That would be Fred Jackson.

I'd take Stacy, Mason and Cunningham over them too

I heard a quote on the TV yesterday saying he was the oldest RB in the league, they probably said oldest starting RB. I did definitely heard that the oldest RB to carry the ball last year was 32 and Gore's now 31.

Lattimore was pretty much a lock anyways, but this guarantees James a spot. Since we do have other capable backs, this loss may not be a huge deal. However, all offseason the coaching staff was raving about Hunter's explosiveness as that was missing last year. Oh well, better to have injuries like this one early in camp.
