Looks like he's been sitting on his couch eating munchies ever since he learned he was going to be suspended.

Josh Gordon and Justin Blackmon show make a movie on how to be a moron

He's obviously got a serious problem, you can say moron but addiction is a hard thing to battle.
Addiction is a serious problem but it takes a moron to be caught smoking or possessing pot. If he likes to smoke, the simple solution is keep that stuff at home. Getting arrest for possession isn't part of the addiction. It's simply being a moron.

But fact is, he does have a problem and he does need help.
It wasn't just possession, for what it's worth. He told the officer he was smoking while driving.

Agreed, Blackmon is an idiot. He is blowing a great opportunity to be an nfl player. The jags should cut him so they no longer have to associate with him and his legal troubles. Addiction is one thing, being a moron about it is an entirely different situation.

You never want to say someone so young is done but it certainly doesn't look good for him. Didn't Dave Caldwell already say that he was unlikely to play this year before this happen?

With the Sanders suspension and now this, could Mike Brown be the WR2 to start the season or do you guys think Lee or Robinson will win the job? Who mans the slot?

Blackmon wasn't going to play before this happened anyways.

As for the question, I think it will be Robinson as the #2.

How many times has Blackmon been busted for Weed? I feel like this is the 5th time I've heard it.

and didn't he say he was going to turn his life around after the 1st or 2nd time? What happened there?

A few years ago it was Michael Floyd with the sketchy character issues, and Blackmon was an untouchable golden child apparently. Somewhat fulfilling seeing them switch roles as I said it was backwards all along.

I thought Charles Rodgers never lasted because he broke his collarbone in consecutive years? Maybe my memory isn't that good.

Here is a great article outlining Rogers' career.
Quote:
Oct. 3, 2005 The NFL suspends Rogers for four games for violating its substance abuse policy. The suspension means he had at least three positive tests for an illegal street drug; the positive test from the scouting combine is included.

Yeah, it was very unlikely that he wasn't going to be suspended the whole year. He was technically eligible for reinstatement now, but the likelihood that the NFL would have let him off the hook with only an 8 game suspension was highly unlikely. Now he's likely looking at missing 2-3 full seasons, probably on the longer side. And that's if he keeps himself clean from here out.

He is probably done at this point. He is an idiot through and through.

Yes, he likely struggles with addiction of some kind, but he is a professional football player with all the resources in the world at his hands. He should be able to receive proper treatment.

Also, getting caught with weed like this is flat out moronic. What are you doing out smoking and driving? Do it at home where cops don't care!

- DUI (alcohol) at OSU
- DUI (alcohol) before he played a snap of professional football (blew a .24)
- Suspended 4 games for Substance abuse policy violation last offseason (I think the DUI counted as his first substance abuse policy violation, so this would be his first failed test)
- Suspended "indefinitely" after week 8 (4 weeks after returning) for substance abuse policy violation last season
- In a one car crash March, 2014 (not drug/alcohol related)
- Arrested last night for possession

Shad Khan said he won't cut ties with Justin.

Whether that means at a personal level or on the team, it's not clear yet. But it appears that Shad, at the least, is going to be trying to be there to help get Blackmon on the right.

Also interesting of note:

R. Jay Soward is still on the Jaguars roster. We never bothered to release him after his last suspension and because a contract freezes on an indefinite suspension, he's still technically a member of the team. He played on the team for one year in 2000.
