Everyone below 18 should be considered as "neck and neck" racing to the bottom of the list at 32. While I do think Cassel is probably the worst starter in the league...it's not by much.

Why do you think Cassel is the worst in the league?

IMO, Cassel is easily better than Geno. He was far better than Schaub last year. I would definitely take him over Henne and Fitzpatrick.

I would say he's more "neck and neck" with the 23-25 group than the 28-32 group.

Cassel was far superior to Eli manning last year as well.

Agreed, I don't agree with Fitzpatrick, Geno, and Henne as superior to Cassel.

The one thing that Cassel has going for him is confidence. However, he has a slow release...his accuracy is inconsistent...his mobility is only so-so. He doesn't elevate the play of those around him; however, when he is surrounded by talented players...he can be middling productive. I think the Vikings responded to his presence, somewhat, last season is because he wasn't Christian Ponder. I just think believe that Cassel is best suited as a 2nd string, emergency quarterback....and there is no shame in that! The history of the league is full of stories of qb's who were pretty much failures as starters, but who came off the bench to be productive...safe in the knowledge that they were not going to start when the number one came back. Earl Morrell, Don Strock, etc...I think Cassel COULD be that kind of qb for the Vikings (or whomever he plays for in the future.) But he should not be a starting qb...and neither should be a lot of the guys on the list of starters!

Rodgers was hurt in those weeks I outlined. Laughing

Even then, the argument could be made.

Wat.

You are severely overrating last year's performance in these rankings. While, at this point it is all conjecture, I strongly disagree with these rankings in particular. I expect McCown to bomb in Tampa, Foles to "Mello" out in Philly (Still might earn himself 10th) and Bradford to help sneak the Rams into the playoffs.

I think arguing over whether or not Cassel is better than the next 5 quarterbacks is pretty moot. There is no doubt that he is a bottom 10 quarterback, and if you're down that far the differences are minimal. Bottom line is he's not the future and we're just waiting for Bridgewater to be ready.

Disagree there. Even from quarterbacks I have ranked 22-32, some can be capable placeholders for a team in search of a QBOTF and not be an insurmountable detriment.

Others provide too many negative plays through lack of physical ability and/or poor decision making, actively eliminating their teams from contention.

There are a select few teams with good enough QBs (along with other talent) that I see are strong enough to win a championship. Evidently, when I make a list of the best QBs in the league I keep my considerations in mind.

Right now, I don't see Minnesota or Matt Cassell fit for this list. He doesn't have enough talent to get the team to the superbowl nor do I see the Vikings fielding a strong enough team to win it all.

Anyways as far as my list goes:

Rodgers
Brady
Wilson
Luck
P. Manning
Brees
Kaepernick
Foles
Rivers
Cutler
Roethlisberger
Newton
A. Smith
Stafford
Flacco
E. Manning
Ryan
Palmer
Tannehill
Dalton
Manuel
Cassel
Locker
Bradford
Griffin
Romo
G. Smith
Henne
McCown
Schaub
Hoyer
Fitzpatrick
