I got Harvey Martin, Danny white, and Jason Witten.

Who are yours?

Harvey Martin is certainly up there.

I know that Chuck Howley and Cliff Harris are both in the ROH, but that they aren't in the HOF is a damn shame.

I'll go ahead and put on my fire suit but I'm going with Romo.

Wut.

And I agree with MH. Romo absolutely deserves consideration. His story is amazing. From Undrafted kid to Cowboys All Time Record Holder. Amazing.

And I think Witten is undervalued by other fans. His HOF career has been so nice here in Dallas.

Romo certainly deserves consideration. But every time I take a good look at Witten's career it shocks me all over again. He's never had less than 750 yds in a complete season as the starter. If he has 750 yds next year then only three people in NFL history will have more 750 yd seasons. If he does it the next two years, only one person will have had more consecutive 750 yd seasons.

When you can say "only Jerry Rice has more" about a productivity stat, you are in rare air indeed, and there's an excellent chance Witten gets there.

Daryl Johnston - Emmitt Smith probably wouldn't have the rushing title without the Moose opening all those holes for him.

Bill Bates - He was such a dynamic Special Teams player that the NFL created a ST spot on the Pro Bowl roster because of his play.

Jim Jeffcoat - He earned most of his 102.5 career sacks while playing for the Cowboys, but everyone talks about Charles Haley or Tony Tolbert as being the sack master of those early 90's Cowboys teams.

Jay Novacek - Troy Aikman's safety blanket never gets enough credit. He could barely block my son, but his hands were amazing.

Was actually going to say Tolbert. Never thought he got much credit and the guy played with bum knees basically his entire career.

As for flying under the radar. Everyone talks more about LA, Step, Newton, and Williams (with good reason), but it was Mark Tuinei that protected Aikman's blindside and he did so very effectively.

Not sure how anyone undervalues Witten, regardless of fan base. He's a sure fire first ballot HoF'er. Guy is/has been top 3 TE is entire career. Gonzo/Gates are only other arguable players.

I don't see the argument for Gates.

Same here. I'd put the Top 3 TE's of the modern era as...

1. Tony Gonzalez
2. Jason Witten
3. Shannon Sharpe

Only category that Gates has Witten beat in is TDs. A result of us refusing to use him down in the red zone over the last few years.

See TDs and eye test - his athleticism was far superior
