Dallas traded 6th-rd pick for LB Rolando McClain and Baltimore's 7th-rd pick, per source. McClain wants to play.

I think this could be about a 60 pick move up.

I can't believe we got something for him and honestly I wish him nothing but failure.

A 6th rounder for a kid who has never, and would never, play a down for the Ravens? Fine by me. I wanted to see what McClain could do in Baltimore, but he never seemed to want to. I don't imagine that will change in Dallas.

I believe the Ravens already had two 7ths in next year's draft, thanks to the McKinnie trade, so they don't lose anything there.

We gave up a 6th for Campanaro, so now we're back to 1 6th and 1 7th, just not our own. So, we're just down a 5 the for the Zuttah trade. Until our comp pick bounty comes in at least Very Happy

Not quite accurate.

The Ravens can either get nothing, swap 7th, or Dallas gives up a 6th in exchange for a 7th. A series of conditions first need to be met.

Not quite as exciting as initially thought, but still it's nice to see potential assets obtained for essentially nothing.

It's really not anything special, honestly. It's a long shot we get anything and if we do, it's because he's providing them with a reason -- ie, he's performing.

At this point there's zero reason to assume McClain's going to amount to anything, and we get a free draft pick from it. That's a win for me.

Except, we don't.

So, the trade could literally cost Dallas absolutely nothing...

According to multiple sources, if McClain, who was acquired Tuesday, does not make the team or is not on the Cowboys' 53-man roster for five games or 46-man game-day roster for three games in 2014, then the Ravens will not receive any compensation.

Or the Ravens and Cowboys could simply swap 7th rounders....

Quote:
As it stands right now, the trade calls for the Cowboys to give up their seventh-rounder in 2016 if McClain is on the 53-man roster for five games or 46-man roster for three games only if their pick is better than the Ravens' pick in the round. If it is, then the teams will swap selections.

Or if McClain plays in 50% of the Cowboys defensive snaps, then Baltimore would receive Dallas' 6th and we get Baltimore's 7th.

But...yeah. This is same ol' Jerry stupidity Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes
