Think goodness Raiders didn't draft him Laughing

Not that we had a chance to get him Smile

If he and Mack would have been there I'm still 100% we would have gone Mack!!

Not really surprising to me. I could never understand how a team like ours could take a developmental guy that high anyways. But the kid will and should get a chance to learn.

Shame on you. Robinson will be fine. I'm really high on Saprano and if he'd have given the go ahead I'd be very comfortable with Robinson. Compare Fisher, Joeckel and Robinson. Which one would you feel the most comfortable with right now? Robinson is the least polished so it will take him a bit longer but he'll be fine, imo.

He may be fine but, he certainly wasn't worthy of the #2 pick.

The next athletic freak bust imo.

Never liked him that high. I'll go out on a limb and say Gabe Jackson will have a better career and that they will both be playing the same position in the next few years.

At worst Robinson will be shakey pass blocker. That's it.... I find it funny that the only words we hear to describe rookies in OTA's are "struggling to adjust, surprisingly good, or 'just what they thought' " .....um...Duh.... beat writers gotta make money in the offseason too guys....

Last time I checked Robinson isn't a beat writer and said he was struggling out of his own mouth. Shaky pass blocker isn't worth the #2 pick.

Especially in a passing league because then he's not even gonna be a LT if he can't pass block.

Pryor vs Russel Wilson.

Major camp battle coming once preseason games hit and Pryor starts showing some leg that Wilson just can't compete with.

....gotta start doing something to instigate discussion up in here

I see a big camp battle coming at the LB position. The overwhelming thought seems to be that Moore, Roach and Mack are already carved in stone to start but for me LB is the deepest position on the team and I'm very interested in seeing Burris, Burnett, Maiava and even Carlos Fields battle away to earn a starting spot.

It's going to be some what complicated by the fact that we'll be running some 3-4 and also in the Nickel package a lot. So far, the only lock for me seems to be Mack but he is a rookie after all and may have some issues adjusting to a much more complicated playbook (of course I hope that doesn't happen and he transitions smoothly to a Pro Bowl impact Very Happy )

I agree. We have so many good LBs especially if it's true that Burris is showing up and getting first team reps.

Also because of our depth at LB, does anyone thing we'll trade one of these guys. I mean a lot of guys have gone down for teams and the ravens even got something for McLain.

Imvho this is a non-story. The staff is probably trying to get a fair assessment of Burris by running him with the ones. There's a glut of players at OLB and before you cut a pass rushing specialist like Burris they probably want to know the full extent of his abilities in case he lands in division (most likely the Chargers) In 2012, Burris was rated the least effective OLB in the NFL. At SDSU Burris had one job and one job only, rush the passer. He is the definition of a one-trick pony. SAM is locked up so Burris will have to make the roster at Will which is the spot more likely to be in coverage. Burris was never in coverage at SDSU, struggled with coverage his rookie season and blew out his knee in 2013. Burris is an un-athletic straight-line pass rusher who will have to make the roster at something he isn't good at and has little experience. I don't like his chances and this story means little to me as Sio is a fluid athlete who is versatile enough to be coverage and was stout against the run.

I have a hunch all the Burris hyperbole is meant to motivate Sio who may be a bit put off by the organization addressing his position after proclaiming himself "the best LB in the draft" and concluding a very promising rookie season.
