I've been saying this was/should happen for a while now, glad it actually did.

Williams was still effective last year and he can definitely still to contribute. I love this move. We get bigger and stronger not to mention the veteran presence it provides for young guys like Jordan Hill and Jesse Williams.

I doubt he'll play a ton of snaps but he'll definitely have an impact. I think this is a much different signing than what happened with Antoine Winfield last year. I don't think this is us just kicking the tires on an aging vet but rather we were just waiting until his market came down enough to make it attractive.

I love the signing. He brings certainty to the team. Although Jordan Hill and Jesse Williams are looking good in camp, I wouldn't like going into the season with either of them as the primary backup.

Seattle rotates their DTs like crazy, which is why Williams will be amazing for us this year and everyone will go, "DURRRR!? WILLIAMS WAS OVERLOOKED BIG TIME OMFFGGGG STEAL!" when in fact Seattle just plays to his weakness (too many snaps in Vikes D).

/facepalm

Not hard to see why Seattle is successful at the moment.

Have to assume this leaves Jesse Williams roster spot in jeopardy.

Definitely love the signing though. We were missing a proven run stopper on that DLine outside of Mebane.

With Red gone I think all 5 guys make it, both Williams and McDaniel will see reps at LDE as well.

I'll be shocked if we ever see Kevin Williams at LDE. Shocked. We have Michael Bennett, Cassius Marsh, Greg Scruggs, and Tony McDaniel all vying for playing time at base LDE. Then you'll have Irvin, Mayowa, and/or Jeffcoat there on passing downs. I don't see a situation where you would take Williams away from the interior.

Don't really know why you'd want to either.

Pete already said they will use him at LDE. Its in the Dailys on Seahawks.com from the day Williams 1st came in.

This makes sense I guess. Allows Williams to play on running downs and possibly inside on some pass rush situations. Seattle's main 'weakness' (lol) on D last year was the rush and the NFC West are going to continue to rely on that (with exception of Cards maybe) so Williams should help that a ton.
