Roos is still top 5 and still our top olinemen. However Roos deserves his share of blame for the problems in the running game. He's never been a premier run blocker, but he's not always sealing the edge as well as he was 3-4 years earlier. I'd put him 4th behind Wright and McCourty.

We have good depth, but we lack top tier (elite) talent on the current roster. CJ carried the name before, but not the actual title the past couple of seasons.

Nothing like these polls to highlight that fact. Maybe a player or two makes that leap this year... Wright, Hunter, and/or Sankey are logical options at the skill positions; Warmack and Levitre could also make that jump. Locker would be the ideal option, though.

We have so many players in our history that have teased with talent. I mean just last year we expected Ayers and Brown to ascend to higher levels as defensive players only to see them regress dramatically. Ayers is no longer top 10 and Brown is not a lock to even start. We keep expecting Derrick Morgan to make that jump, and though he hasn't regressed, he also hasn't gotten any better. Last year most of us anticipated Kenny Britt would be a top 3 member on this list come 2014. We all know how that worked out.

Remember when we were debating as to whether or not Michael Griffin was the best safety in the game? Several years later and he's only now just cranking the top 10 players on his own team.

So many teases...

I can not think of a SINGLE logical explanation for Wright to be voted for over either Roos, a borderline elite LT or McCourty, a very good/getting better CB, when Wright isn't even a top 20 WR in the league. This is completely ridiculous...

18 receivers had more yards. 112(ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE) had more touchdowns. 14 had more 20+ yard gains. 69 had more 40+ yard gains. 79 had more yards per reception.

The only note worthy stat he ranks in the top 10 in is catches. I think he was also close to/in the top 10 in 3rd down receptions too, but I can't find the exact stat list.

You can make a case that Washington(noticed I left Washington off my top 10 list in the last thread..need to fix that) is better than Wright now. At the very least, he's on a similar level(stats back that up as well). I get putting Wright on the list, and relatively high at that, based on potential..but Roos and McCourty are both proven, great players.

Just because Wright has the potential to be the best receiver we've had since Derrick Mason doesn't make him the 2nd best player on this team.

And I'll say this, if right now Kendall Wright is our 2nd best player? We're either completely, 100% screwed, cause that likely means Roos and McCourty fell off the earth, or Kendall Wright somehow turned god mode on and became a top 3 receiver in the NFL over the course of 5 months.

Roos wasn't borderline elite last year.
