Davis missed some valuable time for essentially no reason

This merely strengthens my suspicion that his main reason for this "holdout" was to pursue other interests and not have to sweat it out with the team until TC. Like it or hate it, he probably feels that he will quickly acclimate back into the system.. so from his perspective.. why grind out the "excess" practice, when he can do other non-football things prior to TC? He probably let all the relevant players know this.. so there would be no real bad blood.

it had to be more than that though. i mean was missing 3 days of mandatory camp that much of a hindrance to his "brand"? someone like Kap is a much bigger celebrity figure than VD and has a lot of business ventures as well and he never misses anything. either way, if your theory is true then that really makes me question VD's intelligence.

Especially considering missing those 3 days meant losing 200k.

I think it's mostly ego and stupidity. And The Cause (TEs getting paid like WRs).

Oldman, I don't think it was just a Brett Favre type of move. Davis tried to make a power move and the FO did not budge one bit. At the end, he just made a fool of himself and gave in.

Our FO does not play games and they weren't going to panic here. Davis missed some valuable time for essentially no reason since he doesn't expect to hold out in TC. This is exactly what Sherman was talking about. If you are going to hold out, then go all the way and hold out in TC. But if you are going to eventually break, it does no good and you just wasted your time.

Well he also said he was going to attend mandatory minicamp. Them his agent have him a call and told him no.

Not saying for sure, but the same thing could happen again and he could miss tc

I'm sure his agent has a plan for him, but he is making a fool out of himself. Do you really see the team giving up a new deal because he is sitting out mini camp and training camp? For better or worse, we have some stubborn guys working in the FO, and they won't budge.

Nope, but he said if he doesn't get a new deal he will still be fine. So it looks like he won't skip TC, but who really knows.

Not sure how much it matters, but the ruling today stated Graham is NOT considered a WR.

Did the judge say whether VD was top 3 in the league at his position?

What's his deal anyway? He has two years left and is still a top paid TE in this league. He needs to chill.
