Time to start again boys.

Seahawks sing Kevin Norwood and Kevin Pierre-Loius today

Quote:
Defensive lineman Greg Scruggs lined up inside at tackle. Scruggs added weight this offseason after missing all of last year with an injury, and he slotted behind Tony McDaniel as a backup defensive tackle. He could be a candidate to fill the third-down pass-rushing void left by the departure of Clinton McDonald.

Quote:
To answer one obvious question, Terrelle Pryor is playing nothing but quarterback. Todayís session was open to the media, and the team knew that, so who knows what might happen behind closed doors.

Earl also mentioned on the radio how it helps him to have a tall guy like Pryor back there because it's more natural to read him. He mentioned how he thinks Russell will do big things for Pryor's game
Quote:
James Carpenter, said to be in the best shape of his career, did indeed pass the looks test. He looked slimmer and more athletic on the field today working with the No. 1 unit at left guard. And a healthy and on-point Carpenter would go a long way toward solidifying the offensive line.

I read Carp is down 15 pounds on another source too. Promising news.

Quote:
Sixth-round pick Eric Pinkins was playing solely safety today, from what I saw. Itís too early to say the cornerback experience is over. But for now, the Seahawks may want to get Pinkins comfortable at the NFL level, playing a position at which he is familiar, before going further with a move to cornerback.

Big fan of Scruggs. Replied to me on twitter once so had mad love for him ever since. Cool

Those 15 pounds should help him stay healthier and on the football field this season. We sent him the message loud and clear when we didn't pick up the option.

Nothing but pipe dreams and pipe bombs at this stage of the offseason though, I want to see it in TC before I believe it with Carp.

Not sure if it deserves a new thread, but...

Now that it's post June 1st - do you think we'll sign guys like J. Finley or Kevin Williams?

contracts aren't fully guaranteed and it doesn't impact compensatory picks.

Finley? If he's still around he may get looked at, but the FO likes Luke Willson a lot.

I would be all for signing Kevin Williams.

I'd be pretty damn surprised if we signed Kevin Williams considering the depth we currently have along the DLine.

The depth is oddly dispersed though.

LE: Bennett / Scruggs / Marsh
UT: McDaniel / Williams
NT: Mebane / Hill
LEO: Avril / Mayowa / Jeffcoat

If Jeffcoat makes the roster that puts us at 10 DL guys. It wouldn't shock me to see us carry 10, but I could see 9, or I could see Kevin Williams instead of Jesse Williams

I'm sure we could squeeze one more IR out of him

Side note: Benson Mayowa is up to 265 lb. of lean muscle

I could see Scruggs being used inside alot more. Could also see Mayowa let got in favor of Jeffcoat while adding a Kevin Williams type.

Scruggs will play both LDE and UT, I agree.

I'd be shocked if Mayowa wasn't on the 53 man roster barring injury

Sign both to minimal contracts and let the battles begin. This team is all about competition and if Finely or Kwilliams can push or teach some of the younger players then its a win win for everyone.

Mayowa had a nice pre season last year but he isnt anything special to me. From what I hear Jeffcoat was one of the prize UDFA and a guy who could be a player. Wouldnt shock me either way, neither are likely to make an impact this year but if there is more upside with Jeffcoat then we should keep him.

One of them has to make an impact this year if our pass rush is going to even have somewhat of a chance at maintaining what we did last year
