Because why not?

Ricky Proehl tweeted that he is trying to get the Greatest Show on Turf to come help out with the wide receivers. That being himself (duh), Isaac Bruce, Az Zahir-Hakim, and Torry Holt. That would be.... awesome.

We waived former UNC OL Travis Bond (got picked up by the Rams).

To replace him, we signed Canadian OL David Foucault, who was the fifth overall pick in the CFL draft. The GM who selected him, Jim Popp, said he is probably a year or two away from contributing. Popp is a NC native and was interviewed for the GM job before Gettleman was hired. Praised other Canadians on the team, DE Alex Hall and DT Linden Gaydosh.

On Sirius XM, Dave Gettleman said he thought he was watching a young Plaxico Burress when watching Kelvin Benjamin tape. Gettleman was the Director of Pro Personnel and watched a ton of Plaxico film before the Giants signed him. This is the second Giant he's compared a draftee to (having said that Kony Ealy reminded him of Osi Umenyiora).

Keep in mind we have two other coaches from the Greatest Show on Turf:

John Matsko - OL Coach
John Ramsdell - Offensive Assistant/QB Coach

Weird.

Person reporting Kugbila is still in rehab, not going to participate on OTA's. He had conditioning issues in college. Knee surgery he had last year wasn't expected to be serious, either. I know he's young, but you kind of have to wonder if he's going to get it together at this point. Big boys gotta take care of themselves, especially in the lower body.

It's nice of KB and Cam to invite Jimmy Clausen to the lake.

Not good. He was definitely a reach last year when we drafted him in the fourth round, but I've been trying to quietly hype him up in my mind that Gettleman feels that he can be a stud. As it stands right now he might have a hard time just making the team.

I met him in Charlotte, really good guy. I'm rooting for him.

do you think we can coax Wharton out of retirement? he was a solid guard and an ok RT (IMO better than bell). if kug's fails signing Wharton would make me feel a lot better

At this point, I want Gross and Wharton to both come back out of retirement
