#AZCardinals cut QB Aaron Murray from their practice squad.

Well if Arians doesn't want him....

I wouldn't bother with him. He's never impressed me here in KC.

Is Derek Carr still the consensus best QB from this draft? I think so, but I'm curious what others think.

Hoping Teddy can get back into the race soonish!

I don't think it has ever been a consensus.

Sure seemed like it from the Teddy vs Derek thread, and the spinoffs.

Agreed. There's never been a consensus on it...and Blake Bortles is closing the gap. The only true bust at this point is JFF.

The New York Giants announced Monday that they’ve waived QB Logan Thomas from their practice squad and re-signed LB Deontae Skinner to the unit.

Apparently, they've done this a few times now going back and forth between these players.

Take a look at the first half stats and you see the truth about Blake Bortles’ game: In the first half, Bortles was 8-for-16 for 64 yards, and the Jaguars trailed 27-0 at halftime. Yes, in the second half, Bortles completed 25 of 38 passes for 273 yards, but so what? With a four-touchdown second-half lead, the Titans’ defense was happy to let Bortles complete lots of short passes, and that’s exactly what Bortles did.

And it wasn’t just last night. It’s been that way for Bortles throughout his career. Check out Bortles’ career stats by quarter:

First quarter: 1,598 yards, 4 touchdowns
Second quarter: 2,356 yards, 15 touchdowns
Third quarter: 1,912 yards, 13 touchdowns
Fourth quarter: 3,364 yards 26 touchdowns

Bortles puts up huge stats in the fourth quarters of games. Now, if Bortles were doing that while leading fourth-quarter comeback wins, it would be one thing. But the Jaguars are 10-26 in Bortles’ 36 career starts, and Bortles has engineered just five game-winning drives in his three NFL seasons.

And to think I benched Bortles on one of my fantasy teams because I thought that Winston was going to score more points against the Raiders than Bortles would against the Titans.

I think, even with the injury, Teddy is still better than Bortles. Bortles has not taken a step at all...in fact, he might have even regressed. It's unfortunate. I guess Tom Coughlin is going to have to go back to where he started to get that team where they should be by now.

I still believe Thomas best position is TE. However, teams will continue to fall in love with his big arm and not switch him

Saw a stat that the Jaguars are 0-10 when Bortles throws for 300+ yards.

Want to know the really good news, Raiders fans? Not only is your team 6-2 and hosting its first network prime-time game since 2003, it’s 6-2 despite the fact that quarterback Derek Carr hadn’t played particularly well until last Sunday.

What’s been apparent almost every week (except last Sunday) is that Carr’s accuracy is improving but still isn’t always commensurate with his considerable arm talent. Uneven drop-back footwork is often to blame. Carr can sometimes get away with it because he is a fluid, athletic thrower who can sling fastballs or float touch passes. But too often he misses on many routine throws.

just curious.

given our current situation, how do you think this season (and the past 2 seasons) would've gone had we drafted Derek Carr instead of Teddy Bridgewater?

because right now, it looks like Carr is one of the best in the league, and we're not entirely sure if Teddy will ever be able to come back after his horrific injury.

A report on Tuesday lends some support to the idea that Jay Cutler may not be back in the lineup for Chicago this season. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the team will bring 2014 sixth-round pick David Fales back to their active roster.

His name is a homophone for his true potential, therefore, I don't see the point. Wink

As someone wanted...

Quote:
The Detroit Lions are adding a quarterback to the practice squad -- as a tight end.

Logan Thomas, who played two games at quarterback for Arizona in 2014 and then was in Miami and with the New York Giants after that, is heading to the Lions with a position switch.
