That's a shame.

Really think the league could do a better job of not giving chances to such despicable human beings.

it's a frickin tryout

you know, to try him out and see first hand what he's like as a player and a person.

pretty pathetic not wanting to give people a chance

Read what he said about those poor children and maybe you'd feel the same.

I have read that sentence that he said about those already dead kids.

I dont think that anyone should be ostracized for life over a single uttered phrase.

Kid has issues. Kid deserves a chance. Deal with it.

As much as I disagree with what he said, there are many with that same line of thinking. Thats certainly not something that should keep him out of the NFL. Actually, he had worse problems. There are players in the NFL that most likely believe all the conspiracy stuff with 9/11.

To say the people who just had their kids brutally murdered are "liars"....well yeah, he absolutely deserves to be ostracized for that.

If he gets a second chance he better make the most of it. If he messes up again, I wish him the worst in life. The absolute worst.

Jesus dude. He is a 20 year old, likely with serious mental health issues, raised in a broken white trash home with a long family history of violence, incarceration and drug abuse.

He made some mistakes, at a young age, and should be given another chance.

That makes him a liability and is all the more reason not to have him on your team.

I wonder what has changed since a week ago when you indicated in a Browns thread that the Browns bringing him in for a tryout would be a "no risk" scenario.

Since then I found out what he said... which I personally find disgusting. I don't know why you're trying to dig me out for a viewpoint I have. Just leave it at that.

By the way, is this the post you are talking about?

No risk unless he gets Johnny on the Charlie!!

Quite clearly sarcasm...

You have to think of players like investments. There are a bunch of high risk / high reward investments, but this one is just too risky for teams. The probability of the investment going sour is far greater than the investments probability of being profitable.

I personally believe everyone deserves a 2nd chance, especially when people have an unfortunate upbringing like he did. If he has/can get the help he needs to help himself be a better person and more stable, he will be just fine. Im sure many were screaming the same way about Michael Vick. The guy did his time, got a 2nd chance, and has been a model citizen since then. I would guess many of you would love a 2nd chance after making a mistake or saying something insensitive.

Wouldn't this be more like a 4th or 5th chance?

He was dismissed from the team, then kicked out of school I guess you could consiter this his 3rd chance. I believe that generally most non-violent troubled persons of his age have a good chance of turning their lives around. If he was taking the pre-draft process seriously and has become more conscious of his responsibilities, and no one can argue that he has or has not as we do not personally know him, than he deserves a chance to prove his worth in the NFL.

People are so, so quick to throw someone to the curb.
