I love the Richie Leone pick up (#3 P, IMO). He's got a real shot. Chicago took Pat O'Donnell in the 6th. I don't think Ray Guy award winner, Tom Hornsey has been picked up yet.

Here are some others Ravens UDFAs:
WR Jeremy Butler, Tennessee-Martin
DT Jamie Meder, Ashland
OT Brett Van Sloten, Iowa
WR Jerry Rice Jr., UNLV

Has to be James Hurst. He would probably have been drafted on day 2, if not for injury, with the way his stock had been rising.

The Ravens will have competition for that RT spot, and Hurst can definitely factor in there, next year if not this.

I'm really surprised the Ravens only brought one CB in as UDFA, I have to say. Especially considering that's the position Ozzie specifically mentioned as an area they'd look at in UDFA. Did the Ravens just lose out on the prospects they went after, or is Sammy Seamster the guy?

That kid has great size and speed for a CB, according to his draft profile. We'll have to see if the Ravens can develop that into something they can use.

Yeah I was also in a little bit of disbelief regarding the corner situation. With only Jimmie Smith and Lardarius Webb as the only proven corner options on the team... and with Webb and Smith being as injury prone as they have been in the past... then combine that with how nasty our front 7 looks to be shaping up to be... and this would be an almost ideal situation for a young guy to jump into.

With a great camp and an injury, he could easily be starting as a rookie... heck, even without an injury to Smith/Webb, he could take the nickel spot straight out of camp.

You've got to think that if all the quality UDFA corners are off the board, we'll look to trade a future pick or some DL depth for a corner of value. I can't see Ozzie just letting the corner depth stay as ravaged as it is currently.

It looks like Purifoy hasn't signed with Denver, and I don't know what's happened with Marcus Roberson. Perhaps Ozzie is still talking to some guys, and will bring them in over the next day or two.

Because if Webb goes down (and sadly, history suggests it's not that unlikely), then the Ravens are relying on Chykie Brown or Asa Jackson. Or they'll be forced to push Terrence Brooks out to corner, which just hurts his development as a FS.

But if Ozzie could bring those two guys in, Purifoy's character concerns aside, then that would be a great haul of free agents.

The Ravens should be well set to bring in UDFA, when they can point to Marlon Brown, Josh Bynes, Justin Tucker and even Jameel McClain, as UDFA who have been given opportunities.

Don't forget Ellerbe and Bart Scott too.

I think it more likely at this point that Jimmie Smith goes down to an injury. He's proven to have little small injuries on a weekly basis that has forced him to sit out a few games. Those types of nagging tissue injuries I feel are the types that could really derail us. Webb tends to be more of an all or nothing type. He's fine... until he blows out his knee. So as long as that doesn't happen, I think he'll be fine. But Smith... I could pick a dozen places where he might hurt over the course of a season. So you're right the injury bug at the CB spot is probably inevitable.

At least if we can bring in one of those Florida corners, they'd have a rapport with Elam from their Florida secondary days... and that comfortability in communicating could definitely help break them in faster.

I went with Seamster. I know absolutely nothing about him but his HWS checks out, from a small school which many UDFAs that come out of nowhere do, and his name sounds cool.

Let's see how well my scientific approach works out.

I love the graham and hurst pickups at OT. I'll go with hurst, though.

I voted for Leone. While I'd love to go for Hurst, there is still going to be some apprehension about his leg going into this season. I know a broken leg isn't something that people can't come back from, but as a OL, I'm not sure how that effects ones ability to handle huge amounts of stress like he would face as an OT. Normal amounts of stress should be fine, but I don't know. We'll see.

With the punter, he's got a live leg apparently. And if Koch isn't on his game he could very well end up being replaced. And if Leone beats out Koch it has to mean he's really proven himself to be very talented... not to mention kickers and punters tend to have long shelf lives. Leone could end up really providing a great special teams option for a long amount of time.

He doesn't exactly have the best shot to beat out the incumbent Koch, but I'm sure he'll be given a chance to compete.

I voted for Pataialii.

I know nothing about him specifically, but I do know Utah State has had pretty good defenses in the recent past, and he looks like he could be a more athletic Kelly Gregg type after a year or two on the PS.

Seamster without a doubt. I'm just glad we took 2 more defensive tackles, because we are really thin on the DL right now.

I'm not gonna try and reinvent the wheel. It's probably Hurst. He was probably a mid round pick if he was able to workout this offseason and saw us as the best career move for himself with our RT situation.

Still trying to find some video for some of these guys, Seamster especially.

The punter might make things interesting.

Word. I'd still like to see Ciante Evans and/or Marcus Roberson signed too.

I'm really surprised we've only inked one. I thought with our depth chart corners would be lining up to go to camp with us.
