McCown was brought in for competition/security. He's named the "starter" to push glennon but apparently he's looked very sharp.

Out of articles I have read both QBs have looked really good at OTAs.
I would be fine with either one starting

Ehh to be honest id rather ride glennon. McCown to me, too much hype surrounding a guy who has been a journey man back up. Now all of a sudden people are comparing him to rich Gannon and Kurt Warner as a late surge ? 5 games people.

I really think McCown would have gotten the bears to the playoffs if he would have stayed the starter.

Hm no comment on that bc we won't know. But I have a hard time believing that.

He might not have played as much games as Cutler but he had much better games than Cutler.

True But he wasn't 100% Healthy after the injury and they should have left McCown in

He might not have played as much games as Cutler but he had much better games than Cutler.

# of top 10 pass defenses Josh McCown faced = 0
# of top 10 pass defenses Jay Cutler faced = 4
# of bottom 5 pass defenses Josh McCown faced = 5
# of bottom 5 pass defenses Jay Cutler faced = 1

If you dig a little bit beneath the surface, its not hard to see why McCown's #s were better.

Josh's 1 INT is also the most misleading stat, in the history of misleading stats. He avg 1 TO per game that was called back on penalty. And Avg 3 near interceptions per game. Josh just happened to be throwing to a couple guys who could make bad throws unbelievable catches. Especially Jeffery who might be the best in the league at that currently.

Never knew some of that, Then Glennon is the best for this team right now.

I watched 3 games of McCown and wanna go back the the all 22 again. But I remember Monday night vs Dallas. Man he threw about half a dozen balls that hit Dallas DBS in the hands and it was laughable they dropped it.

Let's let the best man win the job and TC and preseason will determine that. Right now we have a 2nd year guy who struggled towards the end of the year and led charge of the worst offense in football vs. a journeyman backup with limited starting time and couldn't hold a roster spot but apparently had a 5 game resurgence?

I'm rooting for glennon to see if he can improve and well take that step of being a nfl starter. McCown you know what he is. And you've seen back ups like rob Johnson, Flynn come in limited work and perform, while they're really not starter material.

Any situation in which Glennon starts is a bad one. So so sick of Glennon garbage day in and day out, if McCown doesn't play well we will pick in top 10 again.

Well you're not wrong about picking high in the draft again if our qb situation is terrible.

I'm hoping glennon wins it bc McCown I'm no where near sold on. "Late resurgence". No. Lovie deemed glennon the "qb of the future". I don't wanna see a scenario where McCown plays and we put all our faith in hoping glennon is the guy in 2015 scenario. See what you have in him and what he can do.

I'm hoping glennon proves he's the guy bc then you can continue to strengthen your team overall around the qb and add good players. But in terms of hope, that's the fan in me. I just didn't see any flash or anything that gave me the sense that this guy will improve to be a franchise qb. Yeah we can sit here and argue his wrs weren't good. But they were open and he didn't see them. So what's the problem ? If you told me to bet my life savings on it, I'd say right now, the future qb isn't on the roster. But let's see how it goes from here on out.
