Getting Brett Smith is great.

Huge fan of Brett Smith... great mobility and has the ability to develop into something special. Part of me thinks this is the potential franchise QB...

I highly doubt that. Laughing

I'd be pleasantly surprised if he was, but it's so unlikely.

Look the kid was a talented QB at a small school that only didn't get the publicity that other prospects such as Keith Wenning and David Fales recieved instead. I definatly overreacted but this guy has the potential to be like Tony Romo.... Not in comparison, but as a guy who sits on the practice squad and potentially could be a starter down the line. Thats what I meant, but didnt really go into a full explanation

Yeah lets not get ahead of ourselves, but Smith certainly is a good guy to have in the system. Lot's of potential there, just gotta get him in here and get him lots of practice reps.

Just wait and see what happens. Dude is vastly underrated. I'm still surprised he wasn't drafted.

S Mycal Swaim's a pretty cool guy. Don't know how amazing he is at football but I used to let him cheat off of my trig tests in HS Laughing

Hopefully like they did to Michael Bennett, then the Bucs sign him and retain him!

Anyone think we carry 5 runningbacks this year?

I could see Mike James adding a little more muscle and use him in yhe FB/H-Back role

RB
Martin
Sims
Rainey
Demps

FB
James

I don't see it happening. Licht said the other day, odds are pretty good someone will get dinged up along the way. James, Rainey and Demps are all on notice.

This. Although I think Martin/sims:James are probably going to be the trio. If we keep a 4th it's who ever is a special teams guy.

I love Mike James, I think he can be as good if not better than Martin. Letting him go for nothing would be a mistake.

To be honest if James and sims light it up it makes Martin expendable next offseason. Rbs rarely make a 2nd contract unless they're special.

I'm kinda bummed we couldn't move James or Rainey during the draft.

No chance you can trade Rainey. He had 1 good game and closed the last 4 with down right poor performances.

He was a journeyman before he produced here. He probably really doesn't have any value.

Im right there with you on the Smith Bandwagon. i was shocked wasnt drafted as well.

I like his potential as much as any QB in this draft, besides maybe manziel. i tend to agree w/ Jerry Rice, he could be steve young-esque(manziel that is)
