At worst he can be a back up. He wouldn't stop me from drafting a top qB next year if Locker doesn't work.

Agreed no doubt. If Locker fails or gets hurt, move on and draft a guy next year. Just not Winston please.

The kid hasnt played a snap yet and has even been to rookie OTAs, I think it is way to early to say he wouldn't stop us from drafting a guy early if locker fails or remains inconsistent. If Zach comes in and works his tail off, learns the system like the back of his hand and proves he can play then, and keeps his nose clean then give him a shot.

If he does that sure. But guess what, if Rusty Smith would have did that when he was drafted we wouldn't have been drafting Jake Locker. Yet no one was talking like that about Rusty Smith and honestly Smith looked better in college than Mettenberger did. He has a strong arm. Yes, very strong. Was it a bad pick in the 6th round to get QB depth? No, it was the 6th round it really doesn't matter a whole lot. But this guy is going to have his hands full trying to beat out Tyler Wilson and Charlie Whitehurst for a roster spot, let alone find playing time.

Why is everyone so excited about this pick? Why not get excited about the linebacker we drafted the round before him? The Titans obviously felt he was a better player or they would have drafted Mettenberger before him.

That is all I am saying. I'm not bashing the pick. I'm bashing those who ar getting all wet in the pants and quoting stuff some terrible analysts said like "If he wouldn't have had an injury he would have been first QB off the board, no doubt in my mind". It's just incredibly unrealistic. If the injury hampered him go back and watch his junior tape. Jesus it was horrid.

32 teams passed over him 5 and a half times, and I realize there are exceptions, but there isn't much reason on film to believe this guy will be the exception outside of exceptional arm strength.

I realize I sound like a huge "butthead", but I just don't see the logic in everyone's faith.

Rusty Smith wasnt near the Player in the Sun belt that Zach Was in the SEC AKA best conference in College football!

It wasn't his speed that messed up his knees. It was that damned Roy Williams (Cowboys) and his lethal horse collar tackling, during a preseason game, that started Calico's knee problems. Williams is the main, if not the sole, reason that the horse collar tackle is outlawed in the NFL today. That dude caused knee and leg injuries to several players around the league with his bad horse collar technique, and pretty much killed Calico's career with it IMO. He didn't tear his ACL at the time, but he severely strained some ligaments in one knee and twisted the other pretty bad from what I recall. The mistake Calico made was trying to come back too soon a few weeks into the regular season and reinjured himself. It was down hill for him ever since.

Also class of 2011. When I started there, there was no fancy round a bout, just a 4 way stop. the rec center was half the size, and that road connecting campus and Campus Crossings/Greek Row was woods separating houses from the intramual fields.

That place has changed a bunch... I feel old.

Also... while the knee, groin and hamstring injuries were nagging set backs for Tyrone Calico. The main reason he washed out of the league was because when he was healthy, he couldn't catch a cold. The dude had Flintstone feet for hands.

Nice! A lot of Middle represented here Very Happy

When I went, there was no Greek row. The Pike house was across the street from Murphy Center. The rest of the greeks were on a street behind OCharley's..
