You've seen where he played right? Colorado was in the Big 12 his Freshman year. Colorado went to the Pac 12 sophomore year, sat out his junior year due to injury, played again his senior year in the Pac 12. He wasn't playing against D2 teams...
Exactly. Last year he had...

Oregon: 5 rec, 134 yds
Arizona: 7 rec, 132 yds, 1 TD
Cal: 11 rec, 140 yds

3 of his 5 100 yard receiving games against FBSD teams in his 3 years at Colorado, and none of those defenses are exactly imposing.

I'll wait to reserve judgement, but it's difficult for me to get behind this selection at this point.

The anomaly isn't Jackson size. The anomaly is a guy Jackson's size actually having NFL talent. This is the Russell Wilson argument all over again. The issue wasn't that Brees was an anomaly for being a good QB at 6', the issue was there not being good QB's that were 6'

I think that's the point. And yes, Russell Wilson is an anomaly as well.

Either he was the fastest player in NFL history before putting on those 15 lb. or that didn't negatively impact his speed

There's plenty of WR's that have put down 4.3's at the combine yet struggle to separate from DB's or get over the top of defenses. His running a 4.3 also doesn't nullify the concerns of his losing speed with added bulk, seeing as he's aiming to put on more weight, and has never played above 165lbs besides.

I don't know much about him -

Is he shifty or just fast? I'm wondering if we'll use him on screens and end-arounds or just on fly routes?

..........exactly. He's never played above 165 and yet still looked as fast at 175. If 10 lb. of muscle didn't make him any slower, another 10 wont either.

The difference between him and Jackson isn't speed, it's elusiveness.

I'm not saying he's Jackson, I'm saying he's not going to lose speed by adding weight. I'd agree with your sentiment, he doesn't have Jackson's elusiveness. Mike Wallace is probably a more apt comparison

Mike Wallace doesn't possess nearly the same route running or high pointing ability. I'm telling ya, he's TY Hilton.

I absolutely love this pick. Reminds me of DeSean Jackson with even more speed.

Yup, more speed and less wiggle.

I could go with that. He's just got a little height on Hilton.

Mike Wallace is who I am physically comparing Richardson to. Same height, speed, and same amount of wiggle imo. He does play more like Hilton though

Choose to believe it if you want but Danny O'Neil says we weren't gunning for Dominque Easley with our 1st round pick at the 12:11 mark.

Well, Easley was an assumption in the first place, all we know that the player they wanted went shortly before there pick.

And JS has said PR was the guy they'da taken at 32. So they moved back 2x & still got the guy they wanted. Haven't changed my view from the other day's rant, but obviously they worked their plan to perfection unless JS is blowing smoke.

Just saw an interview where Richardson said he wants to get to 190. A 30 pound increase from a 158-161 playing weight at Colorado! I'm not as concerned with him being small as I am with such a drastic weight gain.

He ran a 4.3 40 at 180lbs. I think 10 more will do him just fine.
