one more question:

any chance David Carr is signed to the team as a backup/mentor to his brother?

From early reports, he did seem to have some interest in that.

Nope, however I do wonder if the team would be able to allow David Carr some access to our practices in that mentor type of capacity for his little brother, I really don't know what the league would allow in this situation, but if older brother Carr could be there for him then why not.

It's a possibility that the elder Carr becomes a Raider provided there's that "catastrophic event" McKenzie mentioned comes to fruition.

If the Raiders feel the need to have David Carr mentoring his brother, they could easily sign him as an assistant coach. But they shouldn't feel that need just because he's his brother. They have a coaching staff whose job is to work with players on getting better. Every single one of them, you don't need your brother out there.

David is starting up his own football camp biz...he's getting other Fresno alums in on it, IIRC. I take that as an indication that for the moment, the NFL thing is off the table for him.

The Raiders should hire him as a assistant QB coach.

No they shouldn't. He has proven nothing as a coach, and we don't give out jobs to make because we drafted their brother.

He touched Dennis Allen's seat before the game.

Are you sure? I remember them hiring a babysitter for JaMarcus Russell.

Yeah i dont remember a babysitter for Russell either. If we did hire one we need to sue to get every penny he was paid back.
