Watched Teddy B throw this a.m. Looked good. Dropped at least 7 "I'm excited" when asked about heading to Mankato on Thursday. #vikings

Bridgewater spent the last few weeks training with Ken Mastrole and the Mastrole Passing Academy. Ken is a former pro QB. #vikings

Nice, ball's on the way before Rudolph gets out of his break.

Bridgewater has been throwing in Florida, studying playbook for two hours each morning. Said he's just looking forward to getting started.

Only 2 hours! Hope that doesn't include Madden time. Very Happy

Doogie should clarify that Mastrole was really only a NFL Europe and Arena League QB. I'm not going to really knock the guy, since I don't really know who he is, but Mastrole Passing Academy is probably not equal to Manning Passing Academy.

Maybe Mastrole is teaching him how to drive on France Ave during rush hour.

Maybe not "severely" regret taking him, since they took the best DE prospect in some time. But perhaps play a game of "what ifs" when Bridgewater is is holding the Lombardi in a few years.

I thought Clowney was a hybrid DE/OLB? If so, that would make him a 3-4 LBer for their defense.

But I will agree. The Texans, amongst other teams will regret passing up on Bridgewater.

and I'll predict right now that TB never wins an NFL MVP award, but will win at least 1 SB MVP award, all while staying with the team who drafted him.

Bridgewater: ď[Whether I am starting or not] is something I donít feel comfortable talking about. Iím just looking forward to training camp. Canít wait to get to Mankato, put the pads on and just continue doing what weíve got to do ó play football.Ē

The Texans will regret passing on Teddy when he's one of the most efficient starting QBs in the league. They should have taken him #1 overall. He was an elite prospect, and with him being a QB and them needing a QB, it made too much sense. Clowney is obviously also an outstanding pass rush prospect but QB > every other position in both "rebuild" AND "win now" mode.

Maybe the real results won't show until 2-3 years down the road, but even with expectations tempered, I think Bridgewater will be very effective sooner than most rookie QBs are. Mentally, he's on another level. Even compared to Luck, the GOAT QB prospect I've seen, he diagnosed defenses/read the field better.

Again, all Teddy needs to learn is the playbook. He's better than Cassel in every area minus experience, there's no reason to hold him back if he knows the playbook. Even if he's close, you have to play Teddy. That's why I think he takes the job in the preseason and runs with it into Week 1.

Here is Teddy's (along with other rookies) reaction to their Madden ratings:

Absolutely love this kid but I'm being a little apprehensive in my excitement. I loved Ponder at first too.

I loved playing Madden when I was younger, but I believe it's absolutely ridiculous that kids today put any significance in the rating that the game designers have given them, as if that is some important indicator of their relevance.
