We're less than a week out, so it's time to go on the record for some bold draft day predictions. Just to be clear, unlike the OTC draft thread, this is not Texans exclusive, just your biggest draft day hunches, against the grain ideas, or wild hairs that go outside the ad nauseum focus on where 4 QBs and Clowney will go.

Here's a few to get you rolling:
1) Jake Matthews will NOT be a top 10 pick
2) No RBs will be taken on day 1 OR day 2
3) A QB out of the "Big 4" (Bortles, JFF, Carr, Bridge) will leapfrog one of them (Savage, McCarron, Garoppolo, Mettenberger)
4) Either the Jets or Dolphins will trade #19 or #20 to a team taking a QB to get ahead of the Cardinals - ditto #25 to get ahead of the Browns, Texans, Jags
5) Anthony Barr will be the steal of the draft in the late first, Dee Ford will be the bust of the draft in the late first
6) The 49ers will make a BIG move (perhaps to #2 or #4 for Sammy Watkins or #9 for Odell Beckham)
7) The Texans will NOT draft a QB on day one OR day two (will lead day 3 with one that falls like Eagles did with Barkley)
8 ) The Browns will NOT draft a QB (they will trade for one)
9) Somebody will trade into the top 10 to grab Erik Ebron (Jets, Dolphins, Packers)
10) The Texans will draft a player from South Carolina other than Clowney (Ellington, perhaps)

1. Only 1 QB will be picked in the top 10 (Manziel)
2. There will be 4 trades in the top 10 including the Texans at 1
3. Anthony Barr will slide all the way to the 20's
4. 6 WR's will be picked in round 1
5. Kony Ealy will be picked earlier than expected (top 15)
6. RBs wont be off the board until late round 2
7. Aaron Donald goes in the top 10
8. The Jets fans wont boo their 1st round pick
9. Tom Savage goes before Mettenberg, Murray, McCarron and Jimmy G.
10. Louis Nix falls to mid round 2 and will be a steal

1.) Neither the Texans nor the Falcons will be drafting #1 overall. (For some reason I'm thinking Dallas)
2.) The OTs will not go off the board in the expected order. Matthews will be 1st or 3rd.
3.) *Copycat* The Niners will make a trade up into the top 15 to draft a "falling" WR or pass rusher. (Barr or OBJ)
4.) Brandin Cooks is the second WR selected.
5.) A workout warrior will be severely over-drafted and bust. I'm thinking Martavis Bryant or Stanley Jean-Baptiste. (The boldness is in player selection, not the generic statement.)
6.) The Texans will make two selections in the first round.
7.) Two OL named Richardson, Antonio and Cyril, will be drafted 5th round or later.
8.) At least three defensive players from the West Shrine Team will be in Texans camp. Rashaad Reynolds will be one of them. At least two others will be drafted or UDFA: Beau Allen, Larry Webster, Max Bullough, Brock Vereen, Devon Kennard, Josh Mauro, Justin Ellis.
9.) We will draft at least one Penn St. alum. Most likely John Urschel or DaQuan Jones.
10.) Zach Mettenberger will be a Texan.

1. The texans won't draft a qb till rd 3 or 4- I'm not buying into the silly conclusion of kiper and other "tv scouts" that we will get teddy bridgewater at 33. He's not falling past the KC chiefs, who I think will actually draft him to become the future franchise qb when alex smith time is up. Obrien says its not much seperation between all the qbs in the draft so I doubt they'll rush to get one.

2. The 33rd pick will be a defensive pick- since clowney is the top pick (he is, come on now), this makes the most sense. It could be a db, ilb to go along with cushing, or a d-lineman. I prefer an ilb.......if they trade back with the 33rd pick, the very next pick will be a defensive pick.

3. Tom Savage will ABSOLUTELY NOT be picked till day 3- he has the size and arm and that's basically the reason he's "rising" among media boards, I doubt on actual TEAMS boards. I kinda like him but he's VERY mysterious. He had a mediocre season but also had a horrible oline that gave up 40 sacks. Had a 6-6 record, is old at 24, and only played two full seasons with two schools within 5 years. He played a full 2009 season at rutgers, played 6 games in 2010, missed all of 2011 and 2012, and finally played a full 2013 at pitt. Teams will very much count those factors against him. It would be different if he was a 4yr starter at 24, but no team is gonna take him in rounds 2 or 3 and hope he fully develops by 27. He goes no higher than round 4.

4. Mike Evans will be a Raider.....even if Sammy Watkins is there- Evans just look like a raider...lol...... He might not have the speed that they usually go for, but he's fast enough and will fight for the jumpball. #8 would LOVE him as his new bailout WR.

5. Logan Thomas will be taken in the 4th- someone is gonna FALL in love tooo hard with his size, arm and speed despite his bad years at VaTech. He's too big at 6'6 250, too fast with a 4.5 40, and has toooo much arm to not be tempted to try to develop him at qb. Obrien shockingly mentioned his name among the "all these qbs had great careers" list.......not saying we will or should get him.

6. Michael Sam will be a Patriot- just look like someone they'll get and bill won't have any circus mess.

7. There will be a qb or two that goes undrafted but SHOULD have been drafted between round 4-6.........

8. As much as the panthers NEEEEED a wr, their first pick will be a LT

9. Marques Lee will fall to the second round

10. The titans will get a qb in the second round - they're not picking up locker's 5th year option

1. Houston takes a QB at 33 - this guy will be the 5th QB taken and most likely be Savage from Pitt

2. Bridgewater doesn't fall out of the first round

3. Clowny will be a complete bust

4. Rams trade out of the 1st round all together with pick 13

5. New England ends up drafting 3 times or more in round 2

6. There is at least 1 pick in the top 10 that leaves both Kiper and Mcshay speechless while Mayock says its the surprise pick he thought would happen

7. 4 tackles are drafted in the top 10

8. A running back is drafted in round 1

9. There are 7 first round trades

10. Texans waste all 10 minutes before finally picking clowny

1. If so, it won't be savage......

2. Of all the drafts I've seen, I've NEVER EVER seen soooooo much obsession over alleged "small hands".....lol....he may have soft hands that keep him from gripping the ball because colin kaepernick has "smaller hands"....like 9 1/16 or something......if your hands are over 9", then you're just fine. Bridgewater won't fall past the chiefs because if he's there, he'd be the perfect heir to alex smith and they're a good team with no major needs. Mocks are saying they go WR but this class is tooo deep with WRs and bridgewater will be a perfect fit for andy reids WCO.

Browns take Johnny Football, I have a hunch with the first overall pick

Patriots take a TE in round 1

Blake Bortles falls to end of round 1 possibly round 2

Derek Carr is taken before Bortles

3 trades happen in first 5 picks

More cb and s go in round 1 than wrs

My bold prediction - I will be pissed with whoever the texans take. I doubt they will take anyone I would want them to take...

1) We stay at #1 and select Teddy Bridgewater.

2) Announcers gush over the Bridgewater pick ("I love that they stuck to their guns and selected a players other media analysts had falling significantly" and "You know what? I've watched more tape on Teddy recently, and I significantly overcorrected my initial analysis. He's a gamer, he's a leader, and just a really smart football player.")

3) We draft a skill position player at #33.

4) We leave a significant amount of holes unfilled.

5) Everybody on this board hates our draft, especially Apollo.

Who will take him in the top 10 though?

Texans- Wont
Rams-Wont
Jags-Wont
Browns- Wont
Raiders- Wont
Falcons- Wont
Bucs- Wont
Bills- Wont
Vikes- Wont
Lions- Wont

Highest I see him going without a trade is the Giants. I think a team like the Bears will trade in the top 10 and make sure they get him. He is a top 10 talent in this class.

The raiders are supposedly in love with him, but don't think he's worth #5

Johnny Manziel falls to the Eagles and they take him.

Lions take a WR round 1.

Brandin Cooks is the third receiver off the board.

Ryan Shazier goes top 20.
