The annual pre-draft press conference will be starting shortly. Newsome, DeCosta, Horitz, and Harbaugh will be talking to the media. For the most part I think we get good information from these but there's always gamesmanship going on. Mostly from Harbaugh, I don't trust half of what he says in the press. You can watch it online here:

Ozzie Newsome says Ravens have already gotten exploratory calls from teams wanting to move up to their spot at No. 17

Ozzie Newsome tells reporters they’ve already gotten calls about No. 17. Big-time value spot. Teams looking for a WR may want to jump #Jets.

Teams are convinced #Ravens will move back, like teams are convinced #49ers want to jump up for a speedy WR. I wonder if those teams’ll talk

As far as trading up scenario, Ozzie Newsome said it's more unlikely unless it's one or two players available

Ozzie said that in the 2007 draft, the Ravens were in the midst of trading up to get Brady Quinn, but the Browns offered more to move up.

Anyone notice a mood change when they were asked about Fuller and West?

Hortiz did start to gush about West a bit. I didn't notice anything too overt about Fuller.

Lots of generic questions this year. The press conference was disappointing to me. It was fun to watch though. These guys always do a good job making these things enjoyable.

Kind of disappointed that when they said they wanted to upgrade the QB position, they weren't talking about the starting QB. Laughing

This is the one that stood out to me. It really explains why our drafts are rarely highly rated by fans and draftniks, but they almost always produce results on the field.

The more I look at it, we're going to trade 17 to San Fran so they can grab Odell Beckham before NYJ can get to him.

Sooooo....

Guys that should be there at 30 I'd want (in order)

1. Joel Bitonio
2. Cyrus Kouandijo (even though I think he'll be there in the 2nd)
3. Dee Ford
4. Ra'Shede Hageman
5. Jordan Matthews
6. Kelvin Benjamin
7. Cody Latimer

If they trade back with San Francisco my top target at that pick would be Jimmie Ward. Joel Bitonio is a close second place.

EDIT: I'll add Xavier Su'a-Filo to that list as well. He's a perfect fit for Kubiak's system and a really good player. Rashede Hageman, Jason Verrett, and Kyle Fuller (if he slips that far) would also be some of my favorite options.

I think it will be for a corner but I do see the Niners trading up. Wouldn't rule out someone trading up for a QB in which case we might hit the jackpot.

If we do end up in the low 30s I'd be in favor of trading back up for Cooks or Shazier if either fall to around 25. Hageman I'd love but I think he's going much higher than that. Verrett or Bitonio Id be satisfied. Or keep trading down.

I'm torn between wanting to grab the #3 WR for ourselves and seeing what we can do withmore picks.

It really depends on how close we have the 3-? receivers graded.

For the 49ers to move up to 17. What would they have to give up??

By the chart, 30, 77, and 170.

I'm intrigued by this draft. I think either way the Ravens go with this, and I have a strong feeling we trade back out of the 1st round, I think we'll be sitting good.

My hope is that we get Jimmy Ward and then go OL, then get Sankey at RB Cool

Or either of their 2nd round picks gets the value close... Which I'd be more in favor of... As I think the talent strength of this draft is the 2nd round. There will still be players with 1st round talent available.

I think Mike Evans is one of the players we would trade up for. Maybe he slips if teams at the top buy into the 2nd tier depth at WR. If it looks like he'll slip to Pitttsburgh we have to prevent that from happening.
