2014 PREDICT THE PICK CHALLENGE
2013 PREDICT THE PICK - LORK 88 champion
2012 PREDICT THE PICK - TexansFan80 champion
2011 PREDICT THE PICK - texansfan champion
2010 PREDICT THE PICK - texansfan/mse326/Marco79 champions
2009 PREDICT THE PICK - texansfan chapion
2008 PREDICT THE PICK - ET80 champion

THE RETURNING CHAMP IS BACK! THINK YOU CAN DETHRONE ME?

Rules remain the same as they have in the past for everyone who's entered. For those new to the challenge, you try and guess as many actual Texan picks possible. Since the Texans have 11 picks total this year, I'm upping the ante and giving every 20 picks to predict with!

You are able to use the picks how you choose; for example if you want your all your picks to be nothing but QBs and DEs you can just like you can pick one player per position (the choice is entirely up to you). The winner is decided by who gets the most picks right. If there is a tie, the entrant who picked the lowest combination of picks wins. For example, TF80 won in 2012 because he picked Ben Jones (round 3) and Randy Bullock (round 5) while 2 others picked Whitney Mercilus and Randy Bullock.

All entries are due May 8th before the first pick is announced. I put the numbers below to make it easy so you can just copy and paste. Please format the picks as player, position, school to make it easier for me to go through when grading. Winner gets a custom-made sig of any of the draft picks made by the Texans. Good luck!

These things are almost as maddening as the real thing. I've nailed some in the past, but because I haven't been shy about cracking the Kubiak Crony Code well before the drafts, most here are already all over the Kubiak-isms (Bullock, G. Graham, Shelley Smith) and our 1st and 2nd round "needs" have been so glaring although they still managed to muff that with the Posey/Martin picks in 2012. Rick Smith has always been a tougher read, but he does have a few "tells," the most striking of which is taking the last player in a run on a position which generally means elevating picks 2 rounds too early once we get past the top 50 players which are rarely in doubt. Will definitely be interesting to see the O'Brien effect as he strikes me as a guy willing to make some unconventional moves to get the guy he wants.

Additional point of inquiry, does "the pick" count or the player we have (i.e. draft Clowney then trade like Eli Manning with SD). I think the player should count.

{Posted 5/2/14 - don't ripoff as several are smokescreens!}:
1. Jadeveon Clowney - OLB - South Carolina
