I never expected 75% of those players to have a shot at anything more than a practice squad guys. It is that other guy who I am really shocked has already been let go.

Why let Allen go? Confused I mean he wasnt a world-beater but still a pretty good LB in a pinch

Clearly determined to eventually remove every last trace of the prior regime. Laughing

nearly $3M cap hit next season is a lot though, if they see him as a backup/depth guy.

Yea, but why cut him now? I'm sure paying him that wouldnt hurt us this year anyways

Scuttlebutt around town is that he is not recovering from the concussions well.

That'll definitely do it. Especially for a kind of fringe guy making some money.

I wonder if a guy like Shazier could be an option if he either fell or we ended up with some extra picks in weird places.

Allen was pretty good for us, and it won't be so simple to reproduce his production. I have to imagine this was health-related.

Still a fringe/stopgap starter for us, at best. Really a backup/depth guy. And it's not like our LB corps has been all world or anything. He was competing with mostly waiver pickups and such. Solid in that role, but at that price ehhh...top that off with an apparent health issue and he's pretty replaceable. That's a fringe guy to me.
