The debate over who Houston should or will take first is going ahead full steam now, and this question will affect how the rest of the first round plays out. Will it start a run on QBs? Will taking Clowney off the board first leave a lot of teams trying to trade down?

So, who do you WANT the Texans to take, and why?

I want to see Bridgewater go first because I think if Houston starts with a QB, everyone else is going to get nervous about waiting for them to fall. Specifically a team like Cleveland with 2 first rounders may decide they can wait until their second pick to get their QB. The more QBs and OTs that go in the first 9, the better off we are. If we're really lucky, all 3 LTs will go (though Lewan probably screwed that) and at least the top 3 QBs.

Any QB will do for me. The more QBs selected in the top 9, the better chance we get a stud prospect falling to us.

A quarterback. Doesn't matter which one, just a quarterback. Preferably a unique one that they alone have a man crush on and doesn't dissuade anyone else from picking a QB, like Bortles My dream scenario would see Bortles, Carr, Bridgewater, and Manziel go in the top nine.

1. Texans: Blake Bortles
2. Rams: Jake Matthews
3. Jaguars: Teddy Bridgewater
4. Browns: Johnny Manziel
5. Raiders: Derek Carr
6. Falcons: Jadeveon Clowney
7. Buccaneers: Eric Ebron
8. Vikings: Greg Robinson
9. Bills: Mike Evans
My dream draft right there. Watkins and Mack still on the board by pick ten. Fantasy? Absolutely, but can't hurt to hope, right?

Ridiculous statement. I hope I have progressed past such petty statements.

If they did trade up for Watkins, I can't express near enough doubt that it would be because the scouts were fond of his hype.

Gilbert.

Prevent us from even possibly reaching on him.

Yeah because NFL scouts who do that stuff for a living make decisions based on hype. Silly statement.

Detroit scouts unimpressive. Beyond obvious picks they done little

It's all hype though.

I went Robinson, the Qb's will go regardless of what Houston does.

They got starting or heavy rotation players out of rounds 3,4,5 and UDFA last year. In any case, NFL scouts do 1000x times the work that anyone who's ever posted on this board does, including you. They don't just say oh that guy is getting a ton of hype let's take him

Gilbert play had him high. Combine reinforced it. Watkins not any better then. Jordan Matthews on tape or measurables

This seems to be said a lot without any substance. Here's a decent article to explain the tenure of Mayhew vs. Millen:

There's more research out there stating same.
