Its been a month since my last mock, I'll make one more before the actual draft.

Quick reminder, I make my mocks to reflect what I THINK WILL HAPPEN.

2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT

**Rams send 1.2, 6.12 to Falcons-- Falcons send 1.6, 2.5, 2015 1st rounder**

1.6.) Jake Matthews, OT, TAMU

I think the only way we pass on Clowney (which I believe will be there at 2) is if we receive an offer we cannot refuse-- which I think the Falcons will offer that is listed above. While I prefer Robinson, I think its very possible that they want Matthews to sure up the Tackle spots and give Sam the best protection possible. Jake can step in immediately if Long isn't back in time or he can man the RT spot now and take over the blindside for the future. Again, while I prefer Robinson, I am completely ok with the logic in going with Matthews. It is also possible that Robinson is snagged in the top 5.

1.13.) HaHa Clinton-Dix, FS, Bama

This pick I'm not budging on. It makes far too much sense and its at the right spot, which some disagree. I don't think its outstanding value, but pretty much every single team picking after 13 could take him, so why chance it?

2.5.) Jason Verrett, CB, TCU

It has been listed over and over that Verrett is a 1st round talent who will fall to the 2nd due to his size, one team with a late first round pick was even quoted as to saying they wouldn't take Verrett based on his size. That won't deter us from taking him though.

2.12.) Joel Bitonio, OL, Nevada

A little high for Bitonio IMO (he is listed as a 2nd round lock), but we worked him out at his pro day at G and C. He is mean and physical, while showing impressive quickness and strength. He has some issues with knee bend and hand placement, but with some coaching he could be the LG we've been looking for.

3.11.) Phillip Gaines, CB, Rice

Gaines MIGHT not last this far, but he is listed as a 3rd rounder so I'm keeping him here until I see a glaring reason to think otherwise. A potential shutdown corner in man coverage, just needs to bulk up a bit.

4.10.) Aaron Murray, QB, UGA

Murray will be a good developmental backup to learn from Hill. He is a smart competitor with a solid arm.

5.13.) Cassius Marsh, DE, UCLA

We showed interest in Marsh in the EW game. A nasty Chris Long type DE who doesn't have the best numbers, but he wins with his motor and will.

6.comp.) Jay Prosch, FB, Auburn

I'm staying with this pick because IMO we need a big physical fullback.

7.11.) Max Bullough, LB, MSU

Another guy we showed interest in who I think will fall hard in the draft due to extreme lack of athleticism. However, he is smart, big, and tough. He could be a nice fill in on run downs.

7.26.) Sean Parker, S, UW

An undersized SS who was a leader at UW. Decent depth behind TJ Mac.

7.comp.) Glenn Carson, LB, Penn St.

Another EW interest who could fight for a backup LB spot, most likely at MLB.

7.comp.) Eric Thomas, WR, Troy

It was interesting to see us genuinely interested in Thomas at his pro day after jrry started talking about him. I think it could be a possibility. Two words, STRONG HANDS.

So we're taking two offensive linemen and two corners in our first five picks?

I'm all for double dipping in the OL pool early, but not so much CB as well. My personal preference would be to nab a receiver with one of those picks.

I dont dislike any of the picks. This does address needs we have and vastly improves our secondary. Would LOVE to get Verrett in second and Thomas in the 7th.

Best Rams mock I've seen yet. Adds talent and depth to our two weekest units, the secondary and the OLine.

I love it. I've double dipped for CBs and OL in every mock I've done this off-season, so I'm a huge fan. Getting Matthews in a trade down scenario is a wet dream of mine.

Edit: I don't think taking a developmental QB is a priority after the Hill signing. I'd have rather used that pick for some depth at DT.

It's a good mock. I'm not a Clinton-Dix fan but the rest is good with me. I'm still not sold we'll get that 2015 1st though. I hope so.

Don't worry. Sean Payton would pass the ball in a Tornado.

But would he do it in a Sharknado?

If it were me itd take an RG3 deal to give up the rights to Clowney.

I like it. I had the same trade down in my last mock. Landing either Matthews/Robinson plus that haul of picks would make the draft right there...

Ha-Ha makes all the sense in the world, and getting Verrett, Gaines and Bitonio would be sweet as well. Would go along way in bolstering our talent and depth at those respective positions...

I like the Murray pick, people are forgetting the Shaun Hill is on a 1 yr deal. This team is going to need a young back-up to groom...

Only part I'm not crazy about is the late round picks. I like the Prosch pick, he fits in that 6th round range. Wouldn't ming Thomas one bit in the 7th, but I think he goes before that. I see Bullough, Parker and Carson all as UDFA type guys. I think there could be some better talent available still, with it being such a deep draft. Just nitpicking though, as there 7th round picks lol...
